I’m so glad Jar Jar episodes become increasingly rarer as the series progresses.

Sometimes I pretend to believe in the Darth Jar Jar theory, that he's actually an evil genius intentionally messing everything up to make the galaxy a darker, more chaotic place, and pretending to be a buffoon so no one sees it. Jar Jar is annoying. I understand Padmé keeps him around to forward diplomatic relations with the Gunguns who actually have the majority population on her planet. Because she works with Jar Jar, the Gunguns have a voice in what was before a minority of humans deciding the course for the whole planet (kinda racist and gross). There is more peace and cooperation between the humans and the Gunguns on Naboo (I also think it's gross that the humans call themselves the Naboo like they are the only people on that planet that count.) However, I also have a sneaking suspicion that the Gunguns made Jar Jar their representative in the Senate so they didn't have to deal with him, and foisting him on the Naboo should be enough for the humans to take offense and start the whole conflict over again. I don't have a problem with the pidgin language. I honestly don't have a problem with a clumsy character or one who eats things humans wouldn't in ways that they couldn't. But the buffoonery is too much.
