ecauseThe UMK1 microphone is not exactly cheap in my country; while it offers high measurement accuracy, for a similar price, I could purchase a separate audio interface and a professional measurement microphone to use with my computer. Because the UMK1 has a built-in audio interface, it does not allow for the configuration of a reference channel in certain acoustic measurement software (such as Smaart v8 or VOS4); consequently, I can view the speaker’s frequency response curve but cannot obtain accurate phase data, latency measurements, or other advanced metrics.
If I need to perform more complex dual-channel transfer function tuning—such as multi-way crossover alignment or subwoofer phase alignment—I have to use an analog XLR measurement microphone paired with a multi-channel, standalone audio interface.
thanks for your insight.
the priority for this tweak for me is the combination of heaving it optimized for mobile bluetooth speakers and carry as less weight as necessary.
with this tweak, i only need 4 devices in my bag. a smartphone, a umik usb-c, and a set of bluetooth speakers in stereo mode

If price to performance is important to you, I’d definitely recommend buying a Dayton iMM-6 C if it’s available.
I’ve already seen it for under €40.
if you guys have suggestions, what your EQ App should feature next, just message me. I can make that guy work for our favor.

I preordered the Sony PlayStation Elevate speakers. they have a pretty interesting price point for the amount of features.
they will release in November. you should maybe take a look. they are pretty unique.
greetings guys. I’m testing the successor of the Anker Q30. the Q31i for about 80€ currently. it is really a great headphone and get to a pretty acceptable level after EQ. they updated the headphone basically on every front and somehow retained the sweeter higher frequency region though bass is completely bloated if untreated. but max volume sounds louder and more controlled now. LDAC is my favorite rendition about it. i can recommend it to a anc all-time recommendation for starters till the nothing headphone (a) which is 130€
I was already asked by Earfun to review it, so stay tuned when I get my unit.
The parametric eq is great on these earfun
i personally like diffuse field with -1db per octave tilt with no bass boost, dead neutral
the new earfun headphones look really promising, coaxial driver design! peq, good codec support
I hope they dont just fall into pieces like most Budget overears ive tested.
My family had 4 Soundcore Q30 and all are broken in the headband.
also the Earfun Tune Pro after 7 months does start to crack.
and its not like i am going hard on these or stretch them over.
this one is a really good spec inside but the quality looks generic for nearly 150€

I’ve also refined the equalizer for the Lava again, as well as the equalizer for the current X-Sound Go. Both have been reworked, and I’d still like to share them with you. If anyone feels like trying them out, I’d really appreciate your feedback. 🫶
I made three EQs for the new Tribit Stormbox Max:
The MAXX volume EQ is meant to be used for Outdoor and Maximum loudness, while the HIFI EQ is tuned for normal Indoor listening with the knob in its neutral position.
The LOWLVL XP EQ is designed for quiet, up-close listening, like right next to your bed. I’ve turned the bass knob all the way down for it, so the deep bass comes through more, and in my opinion, this delivers the best sound at low volumes.
With the current stock firmware and probably also due to the 360 degree driver layout, the midrange has some issues that are hard to fix with the 9 band EQ: a strong peak just below 2k and a dip just above 2k. Pulling down the 2k slider only makes things worse, so I used the 1k and 4k sliders to compensate instead.
I’m happy with the result for now. Once the next firmware update arrives, I’ll make new EQs.
The speaker sounds usable now, has plenty of power, and battery life is good. If you got it for around 80 bucks with the coupon code, you got a good deal.
Let me know your thoughts!
