I just received the upcoming UBoom X which you can see at the very left compared to the Stormbox Blast and go+play 3.

It’s an early not final unit and I was asked not to post any video on it yet. I am currently evaluating it. The current sound is not bad but has some flaws. Depending on how I manage I may create an own tuning or setting for it which Earfun would include as option within the app.

So far I think it has potential, right now the limiter is programmed way less aggressive than on the Blast, but the Earfun plays low sine notes cleaner than the Tribit which adds upper tones at high levels. Bass output at maximum volume seems comparable, now it just needs to be optimised for even better final results.

I will keep you posted!

Sounds promising and if you get to do the tuning or just offer a good EQ the it ought to become the go-to recommendation amongst people who know anything about this stuff.

Isn't the Earfun smaller? Then how is the bass output similar to the tribit at max volume? Is has to be softer in volume then.

It has bigger drivers maybe better amp, who knows

Foltea Iustin

Yeah. Maybe. But it's smaller in overall size. That will be really interesting.

Any Chance to get an EQ for the Earfun Wave Pro from you?

oluvsgadgets

I am afraid it’s not saveable. At least not towards my own neutral speaker target. The EQ is too limited, so far I didn’t manage any quick adjustment, but I may try to prepare something better once I have time for it. But it seems to be tuned towards Harman, thus shouldn’t sound that “off”, if Harman research is to some degree correct…

That could be very interesting. I currently have the Tribit Blast and the Boom 2 at home. Both are used alternately outdoors as required. I think a better tuned speaker with the potential of the Blast would be very interesting.
