Although having potential to be one of the best compact portable boomboxes I had to return the Boom 2 as I couldn’t stand the sound issues up to half volume. Half of its volume range is unusable for more critical listening as the speaker plays something but not what was recorded with bass disappearing and coming back just by random. It’s ok for making some noise outdoors but after having tried them side by side I even think that the old Boom somehow has a more convincing bass response at high levels when adjusted with the app, which really surprised me a lot.

Most seem to not hear these issues or not care but for me this random bass is a no go in a speaker!

Seems like Soundcore has fixed the low volume bass issue with the latest firmware update 03.10. Maybe give it a try!

I already returned it. Not really interested in it anymore

Hi Oluv, i'm sure you are aware of the latest Soundcore release, the Boom 2 Plus. Mine arrived today and we just did a quick listening test. It seems quite powerful, but the factory EQ is dissapointing, it just doesn't sound right. Are you planning on getting it in the future and do some of your EQ magic with it? Without your EQ i won't be satisfied with it. I'll be your first customer! :)

I assume you own the Boom 2? Can someone confirm they fixed the bass issue? That would be awesome and make it an unrestricted recommendation.

That's a shame, as you said in your video that if it weren't for these issues it would easily outperform everything else on the market in this category.
