Earfun UBoom X - teaser 1 (Patreon)

I wanted to show off my first results for the UBoom X I that I managed so far. I am still fighting with high levels and hope I can fix this as well, Earfun had send me some updated firmware which at least with their settings plays completely clean at all levels. Unfortunately this unit broke the day after I had shot this video. It may be related to the fact that it is a pre-production unit, or that the new firmware caused some issues, or that something went wrong while being connected to the PC. I should get a new unit next week, this here was already picked up and sent back to Earfun to check what exactly happened.

I can still hear some slight issues with my curent settings which are probably a side effect of the surround algorithm. Although this algorithm doesn't change the frequency response, it definitely sounds different aside of the stereo enhancing it also has some influence on the perceived spectrum which I will try to analyse and correct for as soon as I manage.

For those seeking for the loudest, bassiest sound, I can already tell you, that the Earfun won't satisfy you. My plan is rather to create a boombox for audiophiles with a nice balanced sound, and an additional more bassheavy setting for outdoor use but I doubt it can compete with the Tribit in terms of power and output.
