I hope this video can demonstrate all qualities or flaws of the Soundboks 4. As I need to return the Soundboks again and I am not sure if I will manage some further video or if it makes sense at all. Audiocase didn’t respond anymore, thus I have no other comparable speakers I could use.

I tried to remain as objective as possible and although the Soundboks 4 is quite a bit louder than the Rockster Air 2, I don’t think it’s really worth the asked price.

All presets are just horrid sounding and with the user EQ you cannot quite fix that droning bass. Dunno why they didn’t offer some more reasonable controls.

One must give them credit though, that the speaker remains well under control up to maximum volume with no hints of distortion, but the sound is not fun to listen to, but honestly there are not really that many alternatives on the market that’s why Soundboks can still sell them like hot cakes.

What do you think? Which speaker do you prefer?

Wow, I didn't remember that much loudness difference between soundboks 2 and old rockster air. Probably the new soundboks did what teufel did in the past, sacrifice deep bass (not knocking but low frequency) to increase db. Seems that teufel changes this route to better hi-fi as you say in the video. Thanks!

Rockster air 2 reminds me a louder boomester xl which I had in the past, while soundboks 4 seems like an old rockster air with more punch and loudness. Also rockster air was one of my ex speakers

And sound wise old rockster wasn't that great, but still manage good levels of "pressure" for it's size
