I spent a couple of days at my parents' house again and used this chance to continue my work on the UBoom X. The first unit which had got defective after my last video was returned to Earfun for check and finally I received a new unit so that I could continue with my tuning.

I was hesitant at first showing this video at all as I noticed there were still lots of issues at high levels, but this was literally the first time ever I took the speaker out to check how my settings would perform at high levels in an outdoor enviroment, so please see this as some kind of evolution, which can hopefully later demonstrate the work in progress and maybe also some significant improvement for the final state.

Meanwhile I have managed to fix most issues which are still hearable here and I hope everyone will find the final result satisifying.

Unfortunately I lost like 2 weeks due to the defective unit and have some heavy time pressure now to deliver a final state within the next days, therefore I cannot ensure that some tracks may cause hearable artefacts at higher levels even in the final state. Not to mention that you need to go outdoors to manage proper adjustments for these high levels the bigger speakers here are able to achieve. I had done most adjustments indoors before shooting this video and believe me trying to optimise high level performance indoors is close to impossible. Therefore I need to definitely find some more time and get out again and try to squeese out the most possible without the speaker falling apart or sounding funny like on many other products.

If you're gonna have 3 settings, I would like to have some kind of studio or flat mode (try to make it really flat on axis, neumann like maby 😂 and with no tricks), standard mode (all around nice sound with slight bass and treble boost but still quite neutral, also with that virtual surround - probably the current indoor mode) and outdoor mode (pushing it as far as possible also with that virtual bass but remaining controlled and not harsh at maximum)... So far, the result is promising and I prefer it to the Tribit here

I'm impressed with earfun . The sound stage is much cleaner and more enticing . Tribit felt kind of boxy mono in comparison to my ears. I can hear the bass just needs little tweaks but everything else is really sparkles nicely.

There is not enough time for that, I would have loved to do this, but it costs too much effort and it needs to be finished now. I would have done so much more and invested more time for listening and fine tuning but actually I don’t get paid for all this, so why even waste my time.

Thanks for your work Oluv, I hope you can reduce the bass and make a flat or natural mode for indoors like your signature target which I'm following for. I found the bass on UboomX here a bit exhausting for long listening, while the Tribit was exhausting with it's treble. But I think UBoom X going be great at the end. Looking forward to early bird release!

Earfun sounds a bit more realistic and vivid at lower volumes. The bass seems more accurate. But at higher volume it gets too much "shi-shi-shi" where Tribit sounds bigger and less compressed.

This was the first attempt to try high levels. It should shit on the Tribit now

Earfun should give you a lot of cash for this, Amazing work
