I hope it’s not too much content at once but I immediately wanted to demonstrate the final sound after I had noticed there was too much bass for indoor mode in my previous teaser video.

To correct this I went out again and performed lots of measurements until it started to rain unfortunately. Because of this I didn't manage to seek for other possible errors. But I managed to correct bass amount for the final version and as I still had 1 day before deadline I spent the whole night tweaking the sound by ear for the best results at low levels until I was satisfied. It should sound even more transparent now which could also be a side effect of the flatter bass. After 2 hours of sleep I went out taking the Tribit for comparison and tried optimising high levels even more by making insane mode even louder and harsher. It seems people like that harshness at high levels, but the other modes should still remain more balanced overall. I cannot predict how much distortion will be left at highest settings, although I played the hardest tracks and tried to keep it as clean as possible, while even adding a bit more kick in the end. A dogwalker who got curious about what I was doing stopped and I showed him both speakers asking which he liked more. He immediately dismissed the Tribit saying that the only nice thing were the colored lights. Getting some honest opinion from some clueless actually really made me happy.

This here is the final version of my tuning which will be included within the speaker. There won’t be any corrections according to Earfun. As soon as I get the finished firmware I can finally start using the speaker normally and try it out in various locations, which unfortunately was quite a hassle with the PC attached all the time.

Please tell me how you like the result!

UBOOM X sounds way better than uboom L (for me lol)

MMMM

How I wish this had a aux in with no latency…, or does it do that??? I would use it for portable recording!

oluvsgadgets

It may have some game mode, I don't know. but I will ask

Aayu Panday

When is it finally going to be able for the consumers?

S. Ayar

Amazing! Early birds are here watching the worm

Michael Böckling

Sounds pretty good! Too bad its such a „Plastikbomber“ with Teenager lightshow, I hope they will release a form factor targeted at adults, because the sound definitely is.

Douwe de Vries

I do also love your work with the tuning here Oluv! That really sounds decent to me. I am also not the biggest into the design of the speaker, but the sounds is what counts for sure and this will again be a great value.

oluvsgadgets

It’s in production right now thus probably not before August.

oluvsgadgets

The design is in fact horrible but it’s built really well, doesn’t crackle or rattle like some others. It’s definitely not targeted at audiophile adults but why should I care? I started to love it when finished my work on it and simply enjoyed music over it. It’s again a speaker which makes me want to listen with it. Which I already didn’t have for longer, as I was mostly listening with inears or headphone recently. I cannot await getting the final firmware and be able to take it around everywhere.

oluvsgadgets

You can always disable the lights but it looks pretty cool seeing the drivers wobble with deeper bass. It’s really well built, doesn’t feel as cheap as the Soundcores

Irving Preston

It has aux in and on EarFun website it says Connect and stream music easily with Bluetooth 5.3, plus with low-latency mode.

Demonikox

WOW! This speaker sounds really amazing. I'm speechless. Listening on Earfun Free Pro 2

3 videos in a day and the speaker seems solid good! I am wondering how the surrounding enhanced sound thing compared to go+play3, which have tweeters placed at right at left side, making a big soundstage out of it. But uboomx seems to have a much balance sound overall, and only 200 dollars if I am not misunderstood it.

oluvsgadgets

Actually they don’t know the final price. Original plan was 150€ 😁 (without discount that is). Once I have the funds and time I will try grabbing the go+play 3 again as I somehow liked it but in the end it didn’t cut it for me. Therefore I am curious how it would fare against the UBoom X now.

Dmitri Calnev

Where did you find the price for it? Don't think they've released it yet...

Simon Hibbert

Same here. I'm bored of these rubber plastic speaker designs though. Wish they were more classy looking. I got JBL authentic 300 recently as wanted great design, the sound is pretty good but miles better with Poweramp music player. It's possibly something I may buy near Christmas and use for summer next year outside as I do like oluv settings and the fact it's gonna have various sounds is really awesome thing.

Luka Bošnjak

Great sound, really refined and extends nicely into 40hz, maby you could even compare it with Nuberts and place it in front of TV... Now imho, Earfun should use your settings as the default ones (I wouldn't even name it like Oluv's sound but mention your work in promotional material, just indoor, outdoor and insane setting) and then use their junky setting as a default preset for the "custom" section where they will surely include some horrible presets like jazz or classical as well as the customisable eq. Providing that people start on your setting (preferably outdoor which is the middle option and with very strong first impression) will be very nice.

oluvsgadgets

No way, the default will be of course their own

pokketa

Well it make sense if it is better than tribit, it should have a higher price, I am expecting the price with early bird or maybe your code.

Julian Ruess

Will it also have a lot of low volume steps like the UBoom L?

Foltea Iustin

Oluv, can you post the playlist for this video? The tracks used are amazing. Also, what will the price of the uboom x be?

MartinKo

I'm pretty excited so far and will surely test it. I'm curious how it will handle Rock music (especially with 2 paired) because that's the only kind of music my uboom l's couldn't satisfy me above 30 percent loudness. They lack "pressure" in my opinion (of course because of the size)

oluvsgadgets

It’s not 100% sure but I assume between 150-180 and there should be an early bird campaign wirh an ever better price

oluvsgadgets

I tried to make low level listening as good as possible although the lowest step can maybe have some static hearable

Mister 13

I will buy this instead of a vifa oslo finally

Sturmflut

what is the weight of it? what is the battery size? i bought the Soundcore Boom 2 Plus last week, but i'm not sure if i want to keep it. i love my uboom l, great lilttle speaker. motion 300 with your uboom l eq is even better in my opinion.

oluvsgadgets

3,9kg. Not sure about the battery. App is working now but insane mode is not correct yet.

Sturmflut

That is only 100g more than Boom 2 Plus. Not much difference, although i love the weight of the Motion Boom Plus (2,4kg)... will you get the Boom 2 Plus and compare it with the UBoom X, Tribit Stormbox Blast, etc? Also do you plan to make an EQ for the Boom 2 Plus? The factory eq is... in need of improvement.

Bruce Letto

I just received the Boom 2 Plus, but i'm not convinced. I need a speaker for my summer holiday. When will the UBoom X be available?
