I am sure with my recent corrections the Earfun would have played cleaner than here, but I still need to do some further tweaking, although the overall sound shouldn’t change much. I will just try to keep the bass better under control at high levels.

Aside of some slight scratchiness I perceive the Earfun as more natural sounding and quite a bit fuller at maximum volume.

What do you think?

Im just very curious about the battery life, if this will be under 2 hours at max it will be a deal breaker for me

I think it will depend which mode you are using and what kind of music you play. If you just play some sine notes at 40hz and maximum volume most speakers won’t even reach 1 hour. But keep in mind that you can always attach a powerbank to extend battery life. It’s charged with 5V usb

I didn't know that, i thought it had a propatairy charger. Thats great then! Now i know i will buy it in early bird😆 i returned the tribit blast 2 weeks ago as i couldnt be that impressed with the sound, i hope the earfun will suit me better

Maybe for further testing, you could also use some track suggestions? If possible due to copyright issues? Sting: fields of gold Sting: shape of my heart Jon bellion: guillotine Mišo kovać: takav sam rođen Chris holsten: smilet i ditt eget speil Those are tracks that will reveal the strengts and bad things of a speaker, the bass is nice and deep mostly rendered, and the mids/treble are clear in those tracks Let me know if you will use them😀

Can the bass go as low as go + play 3 and onyx studio 8 while maintaining the similar spl in the same volume🤔

oluvsgadgets

Those have just a boost at 50hz but don’t play really low. With indoor mode the Earfun plays way lower without any boost. It plays down to 40hz with full amplitude and still usable response at 30hz. But I get issues at high levels now and may need to cut the bass higher.

I am not sure which one perform better outdoor in previous videoes but this video it clearly show that earfun is the winner. It is a shame that earfun somehow cut or lose the dynamic adjustment feature, I am really hoping we can have as deep as possible bass with indoor mode, especially when listening indoor low volume.

oluvsgadgets

I tried them now and they play all fine except Chris Holsten has some slight scratching in the mids at maximum volume. You would need to reduce volume 1 step.

J

1 step is very ok, even the partyboxes scratch in the mids🫣 but thanks for testing them! Chris holsten has some very hard mastered tracks so its understandable, most speakers distord with him. A bit like soulpersona😂

I will maybe shoot a short demo later playing these tracks and also show how deep the bass really plays and where I still have issues

J

I would love to see that! If that is possible i would be very thankfull, could you add 1 more last track then, Also from Chris Holsten, Slä hjerte slä? My tribit stormbox blast started to distord heavily with that track, the uboom L stayed quite clean👍🏼

I prefer UBoom X indoor for overall balance. But I also like the Stormbox only with your personal Fun EQ in mid volumes, that it has a relaxed and open bass which is a bit detached, nicely spread and not hitting too sharp. But Stormbox in other modes are just off for me, wrong bass shape. And I feel a dip in upper mids on Stormbox, while Uboom X has more natural mids.

Is it able to increase the slope for the cut off

Sunny Leung

I am really into pb encore essential bass boost 1 would like to have the comparison with uboom x. BTW which will have the better extension in bass ?

I mean the Earfun is much smaller and 2kg lighter they are not quite the same class I would say

Uboom X sounds very smooth though and Impressive for what I can do at higher volumes especially the insane mode with your tuning. Uboom X is only 10 watts less compared to the Blast yet you've managed to efficiently tune the DSP to get the most out of this speaker. With the weight, I guess another reason of its lighter than the blast as Earfun could've gone with Neodymium magnets instead of the heavier ferrite magnets with the Blast. The woofers of Uboom X must have a higher Sensitivity dB level because of the Neodymium magnet. Another thing about the weight is the use of USB C charging as opposed to built-in AC charging which adds a bit more weight to the speaker. Hoping that this will be cheaper or about the same price as the Blast

Today I took my blast outside again and listen to it, for me only after 80% volume is usable outside for me (4 steps left in total), and even though the last two steps change sound a lot I still pretty like it, quite good bass ,and don't know why the treble also sound good and doesn't sound like the one you have in your video, but yeah now I am even more interested in the UboomX which has deeper bass and cleaner sound in the video.
