After revising my appeal they came to the conclusion that my content violates their guidelines against harassment.

I highly doubt that my content violates any of their guidelines I rather think they are trying to follow the interests from someone else, some company or whatever.

Nevertheless I come into some problem as all my older videos I shot for Patreon were still hosted on YouTube when Patreon didn’t have an own video option yet. I have no backup of these old videos as I always encoded with highest quality and didn’t have the necessary hard disk storage.

I will try to contact YouTube if I could access some of my non public videos for a backup but knowing them I highly doubt this will be possible.

Well, that is one part of my, and our life's that has been taken away from us, i must be honest, this makes me sad, i loved the older video's as well just to have a look back in time. F*ck YouTube, bummer!

Malcolm Herron

Sorry to hear this Oluv. Can they provide you with specific examples of when your harassed anyone?

Alternate_

You know it all about Google when they changed their company slogan from "Dont be evil" to "Do the right thing"

Henning Passi

Hey Oluv, sorry to hear that. My guess is, that your negative feedback to some of your reviewed products may have triggered Google. Even if this was the truth. Is there now way to get at least the videos back?

Gintautas Gečas

Oluv, JBL's answer to why youtube blocked your channel. you were a bit harsher about the crap that JBL produces, and that's the way it is, they haven't introduced anything innovative in the last year, the same crap is released under new names and that's it. and they have money and a large marketing team. keep it up Oluv, we need your objective reviews. I've been following you since your first video. greatest respect.

MMMM

Freedom of speech is nonexistent it seems. A joke is that they don’t want to give examples of your so called harassment. It’s crazy…

Uller

YouTube is a woke shithole, we know that. I'm so sorry for your content.

MMMM

Well, at least you got us here! We really appreciate your work! We hope you won’t get discouraged. Stay strong 💪🏻

Marius Nakat

Hartyewh

Suck when you're a small creator without big connections. Someone else could ask to look into this and maybe influence the situation, but YT just doesn't care.

Stephan Kappmeier

Mister 13

What a bunch of dickhead Look like big compagnies have power over your channel...

Joshua Leblanc

YouTube is using AI to moderate content now. AI is terrible at grasping the nuances of human speech, and will take things out of context.

Douwe de Vries

I am sorry to hear this - it is hard to take in and unfair. To me it feels like cancel culture and it just feels wrong. I hope you can recover the videos you have made and put a lot of work in.

John

Wow unreal... Sorry to hear. I wish it were easier to quit using YouTube as I don't like the direction it's going in at all and this is a good example of that. Very censored. That is unfortunate as it would have been nice for you to post videos after earfun was released to gain some attention for your sales link.

FRC

Fuckers! Sorry for my language, but this is so ridiculous!

SuperX

Sorry to hear. I think your assumption about how YT closed your account is plausible. They are beholden to product advertisers to a certain degree, and since your honest opinion isn't in line with promoting the larger brands profit margins, I can see them trying to remove you. It just means your word is worth more in my eyes (and ears), and why I don't trust other reviewers. Start over or move to Rumble / Odysee? Strength and Honour.

David Stock

Who the fuck is this audio savant hauling speakers around the Austrian countryside with his son actually harassing, JBL? Bose? Your being considered a threat speaks to how talented and uncorruptable you are, nothing else. And the irony here is that whenever companies like JBL release something good (Flip 6, Soundlink Mini ten years ago) you were right on top of it. For all this chatter, this might not be about JBL or Bose at all - there's still no mention by YouTube re who it is you're allegedly harassing, so even if you were well funded and could defend yourself, the question would remain, defend yourself against who? Or what? This isn't a freedom of speech issue, that's between citizens and their governments. This is a big guy versus little guy issue, and although physically you're far from little, when it comes to money & power, you're a major underdog here. But under or over you're still a dog, and you're still in the fight.

David Stock

Funded by your loyal and grateful fans - why not?

Hello Oluv, You are a commercial user of their service and the entire YouTube service has been suspended for you. Before suspending you, under Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 (Platform to Business Regulation) article 4(2), before YouTube "decides to terminate the provision of the whole of its online intermediation services to a given business user, it shall provide the business user concerned, at least 30 days prior to the termination taking effect, with a statement of reasons for that decision on a durable medium." According to article 4(5) 5.   The statement of reasons (...) shall contain a reference to the specific facts or circumstances, including contents of third party notifications, that led to the decision of the provider of online intermediation services, as well as a reference to the applicable grounds (...). So they should have given you a 30 day grace period as well as reference to specific examples including third party complaints (if any). Since YouTube did not do so and also denied your appeal, you can file a complaint here due to YouTube's violation of article 4(2) and 4(5) of the P2B Regulation: https://www.bwb.gv.at/en/further-cometences/p2b-platform-regulation "If you wish to submit a complaint, please e-mail AFCA at wettbewerb@bwb.gv.at "

Bastards! All of them!

David Stock

Why shouldn't you have access to ALL your old videos? Did the fine print in the terms and conditions convey ownership to YouTube? Is that even legal? The laws of which country apply here? I had a folder of links to ten years' worth of Clavinetjunkie and Oluvsgadgets videos until YouTube's claw-like hand snatched it away. I want them back! It would cost YouTube so little to grant you access to your work... far less than the fees of the lawyers who advise them not to do it. "Grant you access to your own work" - has life really come to this?

Brian Ritchie

Oluv, I am terribly sorry to hear this news. I have been an ardent fan ever since I watched your video on earphones and used your tuning mechanism for them as well. I bought your Limited Eds when they came out and continue to be a small but loyal supporter of your Patreon. I hope you never stop making videos ,and in particular videos speaking the truth on the quality of audio equipment in the market. If there is any way I can help and continue helping, please do not hesitate to ask.

Tamás Major

I think the problem is rather that you sometimes use some abusive words, as you speak. Thats rare and in those cases adequate in my opinion, however it might be a problem if an AI algorithm thinks it's too much. I'm just guessing, but I think JBL, Bose or other similar multinational shitty companies doesn't really give a fuck about a YouTuber with a comparably very low abonnent number and pretty much closed community. No offence, but that's unfortunately true, sadly I must say.

Douwe de Vries

You might then be surprised to see his channel does have a decent subscriber count and overall views over time: https://vidiq.com/youtube-stats/channel/UC7DQTjYICjBd5ZtLQU3Z1dQ/. From the audio enthusiast space I am reading his channel is missed. Furthermore I would say abusive words is a strong way of putting it. I feel he is a genuine and honest reviewer and shares a critical opinion how he genuinely feels about sound from different products. I don't see any reason why his content would be against YT's community guidelines. This to me also is freedom of speech to share a different perspective. I do feel cancel culture is toxic also in this example. It demands perfection and no examples and transparency is offered as well.

Tamás Major

I'm not surprised at all, I know those numbers approximately. I'm just saying, Oluv is not a big international influencer with over a million Subscribers, so I don't think those huge companies does bother. Maybe he is not small for Austria or some countries, but that doesn't break through the attention barrier of some huge companies IMHO, he should be a couple of times, al least 5x or rather 10x bigger to achieve that. It's rather those crazy JBL/Bose and other fans who can't stand him and are searching for any kind of possible target to attack, and then reporting those to YouTube like "abusive words", copyright problems, and after a while the checking algorithms do find some those things too, but even a steadily high number of reportings maks his channel suspicious. If it occurs recurring, it might be a reason to lock his account I think. That's just my logic of things, you might be right too. And please don't misunderstand me, I'm 100% on Oluvs side, and I don't agree with YouTube at all, and as time passes year after year even less than before. I really hate the way YouTube is functioning now, and I hope there will be an alternative, independent platform popular enough, to suck up all the honest, and valuable video bloggers out from that accumulating junk on platforms like YouTube, TikTok and co.

Uller

Something constructive in short: the old videos are gone for now, there's nothing you can do. Now please don't fall into depression and give up. Simply open a new channel on YT that is recognized by fans (something with "Oluv's" - maybe Oluv's Audio or something similar) and simply upload innocuous excerpts of the videos that you still have saved or that are still relevant (a lot of the gear is long gone outdated) and upload all the videos to Rumble. And in the video description on YT you provide a link to the full video on Rumble or at the end of the video excerpt you write down "you can watch the whole video here and there...". You can call the new account on Rumble Oluv's Gadgets again. I know various channels that have done it that way.

Daniel Sripuntanagoon

what an absolute shame, I would often go back to view your older videos to see how previous models of speakers perform compared to the latest models. I cannot believe they won't allow you access to your archive.

Marcus Wendland

Spot on! I think that reflects the thoughts of many of us.

Marcus Wendland

I would point the finger at JBL, BOSE (Buy Other Sound Equipment) are well used to being derided, for their low quality versus price, marketing etc. JBL are ruining their reputation with these gimmicky, inferior sounding products. The worst thing is besides - shock - that a company wants to screw it's consumers for any of their audio money, is that it is creating a false sense of normality of sound, where overall volume and bass impact is prioritized over clear, balanced and detailed sound.

David Stock

I don't think JBL is so bad, although the Flip 6 is the only portable of theirs I own. A couple of years ago a friend asked me to recommend a Bluetooth speaker, and for him the JBL Charge 3 (I think it was) was the safest price to performance, easy to use & reliable reco I could make. I didn't own it, it wasn't my kind of thing - but it was a safe choice, he loved it, and for his needs (use in a dusty garage etc.) it was ideal. A speaker more worthy of your ire, I believe, is the Denon Envaya DBS250. Denon released it knowing full well the batteries self-discharged and would shortly render the speakers useless - a disgusting thing to do. I've purchased Denon stereo equipment in the past, but never again (that'll show 'em). As for Oluv, I've relied on his taste for ten years, bought well over fifty speakers based on his recommendations, and loved them all. He is the one & only reliable reviewer on YouTube, both for honesty and expertise - or he was, anyway... If he doesn't resurrect his channel, the UBoomX will mark the end of an era for me. Oluv's flawless record spoiled me for life.

DominikReviews

there is some channel that found some old oluvs videos somewhere and he reuploads them, but only public ones, yeah i also liked to look back in time on patreon to see how some old speakers sounded here

David Stock

Dominik - Do you have a link to that channel? I'd love to have Oluv videos available for entertainment, I played them as entertainment quite a lot over the years. I'm thinking a part me might actually miss disco and smooth jazz music with OG gone. Princess Freesia, too, tbh - esp that chirpy thing she does.

Mika Eel

YES Rumble is the way to go

Mika Eel

such complaints sometimes take monthsyto even get a reply

DominikReviews

hes name is Oluv's Reupload, there is also another channel which is some scammer which stealed a videos from the reuploader channel and pasted into his 😂

KlarkKentThe3rd

I think this is for off-site behavior. You said a naughty word somewhere, and a kid who's uncle works at Youtube god offended. But that's just a theory......

David Stock

Thank you! The Oluv being Oluv video was particularly good. Everyone's guessing what Oluv may have said or done to piss off Google&YouTube. Their energy would be better spent asking why Google&YouTube didn't reveal what they accused Oluv of saying or doing so he could respond. Accusing someone without telling them what they're being accused of is right out of the book 1984 - and here we are, forty years later.

Marcus Wendland

Hi David, nice comment. I used to think that the JBL range was good Bang For Your Buck, and it wasn't until I bought the Boombox 2 and heard the Partyboxes that I started to realise that their general approach to sound in the consumer market was a bit off for me. The Denon Envaya I almost bought but didn't, thankfully. Denon have a great reputation with their Amps especially, and it's pretty sad they wouldn't correct it. That issue reminds me of the early Sennheiser Momentum TWS earphones that self discharged.... That was infuriating! And yes, we have been indulged well by Oluv! I haven't always agreed with his opinions, but he has done such a great service to the audio community, especially amateurs looking to decide where to spend there hard earned $$$ I will without doubt buy the UBoom X, maybe a few!!!

Marcus Wendland

Free Speech comes at a High Cost nowadays

pokketa

Oluv, not many people understand your affect on Bluetooth audio device development, I buy all my audio stuffs based on your recommendations and I learn how to eq them from you. lately I help eqing my friends earphone, I use just few minutes to listen to pink noise and sine sweep, and try to make it sound like the oluv signatures sound. With only 4 filters of EQs, my friends all said I make the original earphone without eq sounds like shit and the one with eq is very good, I tell them I am only learning from a Austrian YouTuber, I really want to tell them to watch your channel but I cannot do it now... Wish you the best, you are one of the big impactors on bt devices market and this is undisputed.

Foltea Iustin

Damn it. And I wanted all those older vids. All the frequency response measurements, all the sound samples, all the great tracks in the videos and the videos with older speakers. I like remembering how things were or sounded a few years ago. Now they're lost😭

Florian

Oluv. Relax. Settle down. Stop being so erratic. Breeeeathe! :) I just reported the channel. I'm sure it will get taken down soon. Try to get your own channel back from Youtube. Reach out to them via Twitter ... they often reply faster on social media. You can definitely get your old account back. There's no reason to go all doomsday now.

DTM

I know it can take a while, but there's no other solution except starting a lawsuit and that's going to be too expensive. Sending a complaint to wettbewerb@bwb.gv.at for YouTube Ireland's violation of the EU P2B Regulation is free and comparatively easy.

oluvsgadgets

No, they decided like that you cannot do anything about it

DominikReviews

They are not, there is a channel that reuploads them, and he have still more 50 of them, i had a contact with him on gmail or email whatever

Ricardo

Terrible News as this new tirany world unfolds. Open another one on Rumble

Foltea Iustin

Unfortunately I didn't foresee the termination of Oluv's channel so I didn't have any local download of any of his videos
