The HD58X with my neutral speaker EQ was the reference for the tuning of the NH1 so yeah, they should sound similar of course, but at the same time they sound different, due to the technical differences between both headphones, and 20 PEQs used for the HD58X, I could only use 10 for the NH1 and had to leave out some details that I simply couldn't fine tune any further. I wonder which you actually prefer.

The NH1s sound a bit too bright. Fun , exciting, engaging to begin with, but ultimately fatiguing.

HD58X sounds more open also sound on NH1 is more tilted to the left side compered to the Sennheiser's

S. Ayar

NH1 more open, nice

Demonikox

Nope, Sennheiser's sounds more open

S. Ayar

with my Elac speakers NH1 sounds more open and wide

Demonikox

You should listen on headphones. I have equalized for my ears Earfun Free Pro 2's

Sign me up for a pair. Stellar work as usual Oluv.

It needs to catch attention from the very start. People are not used to that kind of sound signature.

Sennheiser sounds more like listening to more than music due to open inclosure, nh1 may sound broad but it doesn't have that open sound like sennheiser, that's impossible

Pavel Grishkalis

it feels like the NH 1 has a peak or dip in the frequency response in the mid-high frequency range, this creates some discomfort compared to the Sennheiser

DominikReviews

Could be a boost of mids 1khz-2khz and reduced lower mids

Gregor Giousmis

The 58x sounds a tad more open. But the differences are small. Both sound great. I have listened with Sennheiser HD 600 and AKG K 361.

Alright alright. I meant with NH1 soundstage is wider but in a closed space. With HD58x it's in smaller stage but open space, since they're open back of course

For me, EQ-ed 58x > NH1 > other headphones you've shown so far (Hd600 being good as well)

I actually prefer the high end on the HN1. It is less brittle in my opinion. I always struggle with some headphones in this area. HD58X is a tad wider and pleasantly open though. The NH1 is a good performer and might be more "fun" for me overall

DominikReviews

HD58X extends higher than NH1 and NH1 have more boost in the highs around 13,3khz

Depends on the device you are listening to

MMMM

The NH1 reaches deeper in bass which I like. Like in 4:30 I can hear that sub bass, while in the HD58X it’s missing

Are you comparing with equalized headphones or studio monitors that are room corrected? It's only possible to compare of you know how linear sound works.

Gregor Giousmis

I prefere the 58X. Sounds to me wider and airier.

HD581x are less sharp around 8-10k (more balanced), which I like more. Vocal is not so much upfront (couldnt tell which one is better in this regard)

OP1M.DR3M

I prefer the HD58X. Beautifully cohesive and natural. Just want to keep listening and listening..
