Earfun UBoom X - user EQ (Patreon)

I have been doing lots of measurements lately and although they can be really misleading most of the time depending on how and where you measure anyway I thought I would try to create a quick usable EQ for the UBoom X as the default is so bad. With the included EQ it’s impossible to make it sound really decent as there is some hole in the response around 150, maybe the Earfun engineer did this on purpose to make the bass stand out more from the rest, it’s also impossible to bring bass to a reasonable level as there is simply way too much boost below 100hz which cannot be quite reduced with the given filters. But I think my setting which you can find attached below makes it sound way more natural anyhow.
I have also noticed that my brand new unit differs quite a bit more from my original 1st unit than I thought. Below you can see both measured from the position I use for Joy‘s speaker recordings. In grey the KH80s placed 1m apart, blue my original unit and red the new unit.
You can see that even the overall balance seems slightly different between both units. Aside of the different upper mids my unit shows more bass and doesn’t roll off with upper treble that much. My intention back then was to get a smooth treble response up to 20khz with no obvious peaks but with the brand new unit this is screwed up somehow.
It seems as if I will need to do a completely new tuning for the new unit for every single setting to achieve what I had planned from the beginning. This will be way more work of course.
