JBL Charge 6 - part 1: indoor EQs (Patreon)
Content
The Charge 6 could have been one of the best portable speakers in it's class as it's quite powerful for its size and remains always nicely controlled up to highest levels while being louder than most similar offerings. Unfortunately it is impaired by JBL's default tuning which is just horrible, aside of this JBL introduced some strange sounding artefacts with the recent firmware update 1.9.9.2 like I have demonstrated before, probably not even being aware of that. Biggest problem of the Charge 6 is that there are no saveable user presets, unlike Anker where you can even share more complex settings through some QR code!
Aside of those issues I tried creating some EQs for the Charge 6 to make the speaker play on a higher level as I really think it deserves better than what JBL tuned out of the box. And with this video I would like to demonstrate the results of my my indoor EQs which are optimised to offer a more natural and satisfying listening experience over the included JBL presets. In a separate video I will demonstrate my outdoor EQs that should give better results when listening in an open area.
I am offering different EQs for different placements and an own setting which should be closer to the VIFA Helsinki with boosted tuning and may be the best universal one. Another issue is that TL and GG units sound slightly different, so I am also offering readjusted settings for both. On top of this I am also adding some earlier EQ versions I had created before which I were used in JOY's videos and may give even better results depending on the given placement or listening level.
In a separate video I will demonstrate my outdoor EQs.
You can find my EQs for the Charge 6 in my shop or you will automatically get access to all my EQs if you are an enthusiast level supporter.
I hope these EQs are helpful to all JBL Charge 6 owners, if you haven't got one yet I would definitely recommend getting a GG unit as this sounds more detailed and allows for a clearer sound if needed.
