My son wanted to hear how loud the Boombox 4 really is, so we quickly went out and took our Teufel Rockster Air 2 with us to compare both.

What do you think? Which one performed better overall? If you consider that the Rockster Air 2 reaches nearly the maximum loudness of the Soundboks 4 like I have shown in my older videos, the Boombox 4 could be a real competitor to the Soundboks Go maybe?

All they need to do is change the high pass filter in the boombox 4, make the bass less deep, intermodulations will be rarer, also change it on punchy bass boost mode too to make it more kicking rather than just rambling

Punchy bass has the peak too high. It should be 5-10hz lower

DominikReviews

more like 20hz, at 100% most of the punchy bass response is at 100-200hz, response from 65-165hz would be much better

oluvsgadgets

Sometimes 5hz makes a difference in punch. Outdoor+ has the peak just 7hz lower than Boom xXX. I think most bass is achieved by upper harmonics which are added to the fundamental and sustained longer, it’s not real bass.

Kannst du nochmal deine eq Einstellungen für die boombox posten?

Bob Witimer

Is it worth 4x the price of the Uboom x?

Simon Hibbert

Definitely not. I would say worth a very maximum double but not because of sound quality. More on weight, louder and design.

Bob Witimer

I’ll probably get the encore 2. It sounds pretty good.

Check Zealot S95, that thing is another league in loudness compared to the Boombox 4, and only 3 notches up from 0 equals half volume on my Onyx Studio 5, and for 100 bucks, that thing is a no brainer... And goes deeper than a Studio 5 to be honest... But Zealot doesnt have any DSP, as i can hear it.
