Here we can finally hear if the Boombox 4 is really an improvement over the Boombox 3. I am using our "Universal EQ" for the Boombox 4 in this comparison. Let me know your opinion.

I am not sure what happened at the end of the video, but the BB3 simply stopped playing and disconnected but was still turned on. Turning it on and off again brought it back to life. It would seem to me that playing it at maximum "for longer" hit some protection circuit maybe. Something that haven't happened with the BB4 yet...

My revised universal settings for the Boombox 4 as follows, I think it sounds definitely better and more controlled like this than with JBL's default. Also indoors it sounds more pleasant like that.

But meanwhile I have prepared several further EQs for the Boombox 4, one more "neutral" one and another one which should simulate the response of the Boombox 3 a bit better (a variant with and without bassboost), I will post them in my next video when we compare both indoors.

I honestly don’t understand how a company like JBL can release a product that, with factory settings, already starts distorting heavily at just half the possible volume. Judging by the distortion, it seems like the drivers are reaching their excursion limit, which creates that specific speaker sound when the suspension hits its maximum and the diaphragm simply can’t move any further. In short, I don’t understand where the world is heading with products like these... :/
