I would like to dedicate this episode to the listening lounge, which will be the default sound mode of the NH1n and most enjoyable one IMHO. It still stays at the neutral side, but has some boost towards both spectrum ends for a slightly more kicking and sparkling sound. Due to differently tuned mids compared to the other 3 modes, it opens up mid frequencies and broadens their character. I am not sure if it's not my favorite mode so far, although I still enjoy studio a lot as it is simply the most faithful to the recording or should at least be, as this is what I intended. But I must confess I also like the other modes too, just if I could have only a single one, I would probably choose listening lounge.

With the NH1n set to its listening lounge mode we will listen to the same 3 headphones from Apple, Sennheiser and Sony we already heard before and you can finally check if you guessed them all correctly.

MMMM

Well done! They sound great, very neutral which is what I prefer! Nice podcast too. :)

I don’t want to appear biased, but I invested so much time into this to squeeze out what was possible out of that model, honestly it would be hard to improve it even more. I have not heard a comparable headphone yet.

Wow, apple = muddy Nh1 = light and clear. Clearly the favorite Sennheiser has a stronger foundation but lacks clarity

Love the podcast format. One can concentrate on the sound without the temptation of visual distractions ;) How high is the bitrate of the audiofile here? Is it really like flac?

Excited for NH1n! It's very open and broad spectrum sound, no colour overlaps any other colour. With all closed back headphones and IEMs I feel the closedness and walls surrounding the music and that kills the emotion for me. Except with Oluvs Free Pro 2 tunings, which opened something new for me. I'm following and trusting you since then and I would definetly purchase two units of the NH1n.

It should be uncompressed wav, at least this is what I uploaded

I cannot decide for you, your EQ sounds completely different . The Q30 is pretty crappy, especially high frequencies create hearable artefacts.

Hey any updates for 9.9.9 from Earfun?

oluvsgadgets

There won’t be any updates as according to Earfun the responsible guy has resigned

Justin

☹️

The format is good, short & sweet. One can tell it suits you. Sometimes I miss timecodes / subtitles of the different headphones currently playing because I’m not sure I missed a transition.

Do you think that we could change anything by asking Earfun? Those last refinements really improved it by quite a lot

Justin

Because you said they discontinued it for the firmware. So are they never going to make a new speaker again and only want to make headphones now?
