Sorry for that, but Indiegogo hasn't activated our site yet. The official start should have been today, but we had to delay it until Indiegogo unlocks our project.

As some have already noticed, our headphone name has changed to: SpX-R which stands for "speaker experience." There was also some delay with the firmware, I am still waiting for the final version including my latest settings and voice prompts. Unfortunately all voice prompts had to be changed to mono, originally they were planned as stereo, appearing at the left side, if the ANC button was used, or at the right side if the power button was pressed, this would have given the impression as if Joy was talking right beside you, unfortunately this effect is completely gone now as we were told it was not possible to include these samples in stereo.

Here the original power on prompt in stereo:

And in mono:

As soon as the Indiegogo site goes live, you can preorder. I hope this will still happen this week!

Thanks for your patience, J&O

You guys are changing the game, you just don’t know it yet. I can’t wait to see this be a success. Mark my words.

Josh Barrie

Except, let's be honest here -- we all know what will happen... The paid shills will make videos putting it down, saying their preferred (sponsored) headsets are "oh so much better"... And the unknowledgeable general public will eat it up and keep buying their overpriced JBL crap. It will be only us who actually care about good sound that benefit. I mean, I hope Oluv drives a revolution, but the cynic in me knows in my bones what will happen...

D.G.O

Sounds realistic. But is up to us to make the headphone a success, our support depends on it. I don’t care what pile of lies other paid reviewers say out of their mouths, they will be remembered as nothing but shills and just borderline ignorant and untrustworthy. Let’s make this great headphone explode on the headphone market and change it for the better. SOUND MATTERS.

Dmitri Calnev

Oluv, what do you expect to see or hear in terms of sample variation? How can we be confident that the pair we will get will actually sound exactly as you intended it to sound? Thanks a lot! Looking forward to the official release! Good luck! 😉

oluvsgadgets

There is no guarantee that 2 units will sound exactly the same, not even with headphones costing 5 times as much.

brex14

I'm worried about it. But I hope, if we can't completely avoid sample variation, we can at least get an idea of what to expect. How far the sound could've possibly be from the master reference.

Luka Bošnjak

I'm really curious what will Resolve from the headphone show say... He will publish the review, right?

Mika Eel

Im going for it SpeX Sex for Life 😆🙏

Mika Eel

Can they also be used wired? (Like have they a 3.5 buchse?)

Mika Eel

I love the packaging! Very luxorious looking 👍 (i'm serious)

Mika Eel

Weird. I see the soundsamples in the email but dont see and cant play them in the app here.

oluvsgadgets

Yes, usb or 3.5mm all modes are still available

oluvsgadgets

I am not sure, as I don’t have the final firmware yet I didn’t send out a unit

oluvsgadgets

I posted a video playing all 5 units I had. These are manually build, production units should have less variation

oluvsgadgets

I had a dispute with him today. Not sure if he is the right one to test it as he completely denied my concept claiming that a headphone cannot sound like speakers, and persisted that it must sound different.

Luka Bošnjak

Maby he thinks that you tried some trickery with crossfeed or some effects. Because SpX-R is a headphone, just that you mimicked the frequency response of studio monitors and got a sound that's extremely natural, smooth and accurate as a result... Was he at least curious? Why does he think that your approach is wrong?

Trenoshi

I play my uboom X at work every day, and try to pressure people into the idea of 'things don't have to be expensive to be good'. It's sad the sales were not driven far enough to keep the product available. My mother loves her uboom L. I have this new oluv project on my wishlist.

D.G.O

Don’t listen to him, you are changing the game and it shows.

Luka Bošnjak

Sure but he needs marketing and someone with reach to show off a great product, I remember Oluv saying long ago that Vifa engineer said that it's easy to make the best sounding speaker on the market but it's hard to sell it...

Justin

Are you going to take a look at the new minirig 4 and sub 4?

oluvsgadgets

I asked David if I should Demo it in a video but he was not quite clear if I would get one

oluvsgadgets

I need marketing for sure but not by someone who is strictly against my concept

Piotr Maciejewski

With wired connection bitrate will be lossless (not limited by bluetooth)?

Luka Bošnjak

What do you say about "This is Tech Today" as a reviewer? He at least provides a sound demo in his reviews... How many units can you send out to reviewers?

oluvsgadgets

I have just 1 unit with logo right now, and another unit to be sent out to volunteers. I am looking rather for „experts“ to hear it first as I need some valuable feedback.

D.G.O

What a great idea!

Gilad

The box and pictures don't fit right with the brand I know from you

OP1M.DR3M

How will max volume compare to some well-known models, Oluv? I often find myself wishing bluetooth over-ear headphones got louder (I've owned Sony WH-1000XM3 and Final Audio UX3000)

oluvsgadgets

I haven’t aimed at maximum loudness. Listening over headphones usually is already louder than over speakers.

MMMM

Will they work while they are charging?

Calzone

I would have preferred a more subdued packaging and logo. This looks a bit cheap, which is a bummer, because I’m expecting mature sound.

oluvsgadgets

You can always buy some more premium looking brands

Valtteri K

Oluv, as you’ve demonstrated with the listening samples, there does seem to be a market gap for a product where both premium looks and premium audio come together. I’d love to buy headphones where top‑tier sound meets top‑tier design. I feel the same way as Calzone and would have preferred a more stealthy and discreet look, plus with minimal or zero notification prompts. For me, that kind of understated but elegant design would have better matched the technical excellence you’ve clearly put into the sound. The sound is of course the most important factor in a product like this, but the design also needs to align in order for a consumer’s purchase decision to happen. As your Patreon supporters we’re here because we value your work and we want to see the project succeed. I understand that this first version is already set and cannot be changed, but maybe this can be a thought for future development. This is just my personal view, shared with respect for your work.

Nuno Borges

Proud backer #5 !! Really hoping this may be a great success!

Richard

we all gotta start small.

Richard

it's garbage. not worth anyone's time
