I am actually hesitant to send out test units to some random wanna be audio reviewers like shown in this video who have huge exposure but seem to be either deaf, or being paid to praise junk like the demoed PX8 S2. The same goes for test magazines like Hifi.de who apparently are financed by these big brands, otherwise I cannot explain how 5 B&W headphones can be rated at their top 6 positions. From all headphones recently tested the PX8 S2 were by far the worst I tried. To me the whole audio scene is completely sick and fake, and just based on marketing lies, with high prices having no relation to the actual sound you are getting, that's why I don't give a shit about other reviewers' opinion to be honest.

If for you the opinion of others is so important because you don't trust me, although I invested years into creating an unbiased recording technique which is not based on some measurements done with artificial ear approximations compensated for some random wrong sounding targets and including listeners' preference (see above, what kind of sound many seem to prefer), I can only state that currently there are 2 SpX-R samples around to be tested by external listeners. One of them should go to Resolve from headphones.com, but there was no tracking update for 1 week, that's why I assume it could have been lost or is simply stuck somewhere due to Christmas season etc. The other sample is currently tested by Marek, who told me to publish his review within the next days. When Marek finished everything, I would like him to send this unit to someone else preferably within EU and someone who has some influence or name in the audio scene. If there is no volunteer here I will send it to an old friend of mine from Miniklangwunder.de.

I should receive further 3 samples hopefully still this year. One of them will go to Ralph Willke in January, who is the editor of the German kopfhörer.de magazine, because he showed interest. I also asked Rtings if they wanted to try one, but they were not interested. If some opinion from these "experts" is really needed to make people pledge for the SpX-R, then I am definitely going to stop all this nonsense. I tried my best to offer you something really unique so far unheard within the headphone scene at this ridiculous price compared to all the commercial offerings. If my work can only attract 26 potential buyers, then I am not interested in continuing to contribute anything to the audio scene at all. Better let others rip you off, at least you have some real brand on your head!

MMMM

It’s Christmas time now, people already cashed out themselves, but hopefully it should pick up after new year! I’m not in a position to pay anything today, but I will be, Olaf be patient! I’m sure it’s a unique product, and I can’t wait to get my hands on some!

Maybe send Demo units to the YouTubers crinacle or z-reviews. I think they are somewhat trustworthy. Or maybe damir frank (the nitpicker). Magazines like lowbeats, areasdvd, hifi journal etc are just the companies who promote everything they get, imho. No losers all winners. Just “feel good” magazines.

oluvsgadgets

No way, Z-Reviews has no clue and Crinacle has his own "business"...

Difficult! Ears are biased, taste of sound is also a personal thing and if you prefer bass heavier sound that's up to the, already mentioned, personal taste. i still celebrate your tuning of earfun uboom X but i can also say that i am also a part of the bass needs to fuck my ears department 🤣 so i can still understand people that are not really into those "linear" tuned headphones But still! i am curious trying to find out what headphones should sound like so i still would back you if the production can be realized 👌

Don’t give up! You are changing the game, im trying my best to spread the word on this project, because I want to see it be a reality. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

I’m sorry about the low number of pre-orders… I really would have liked one… If they don’t end up launching, I’ll continue to follow your recommendations and support you on Patreon. I honestly don’t know what else I could buy in that case, maybe you could give me a suggestion

when you pledge, they don't charge you immediately. the money is taken right before the launching days from your account.

MMMM

Is that so.. I need to know when they will take the money though… I have a tight budget, but I will check it out to see.

MMMM

Ok I pledged for two! You were right!

Hi Oluv, don‘t give up yet. You do not need the blessings from YouTuber, but you need some reach, which you can get via these guys. Enjoy your Christmas break and all the best to you and your family for the new Year!

I would pledge also for two SpX-R if anybody can direct me to a device which can cast to two BT headphones via apt X low latency. I would like to use the SpX-R for watching Movies together with my wife.

I also love bass and crisp highs, usually a V-shaped or even W-shaped signature. But it can't be extreme like a lot of headphones out there. I have been getting used to a more neutral sound since using HeSuVi + Equalizer APO on my PC, and it really DOES help you hear every detail instead of blowing out the low end. But Oluv at least always creates modes that lean more towards V-shaped while keeping everything under control on both ends. He knows people don't always want pure neutral and want "fun" sometimes, and explains it in multiple videos.

Here's one I found with a simple search: https://a.co/d/fnTifED. "eppfun Bluetooth 5.2 Transmitter Receiver, Aptx HD, Aptx Low Latency Audio Adapter for Airplane, TV, Gym, White". Supports 2x connections and APTX-LL.

Josh Barrie

The problem is, without exposure/reach, how will people know about the SpX-R? Those guys or someone else big on YouTube is needed for getting it out there to more customers. They just need to know beforehand what the SpX-R's mission is and not to review them as some sort of bass-heavy gaming headphone or whatever. It may be worth it.

oluvsgadgets

Well, I have 380 supporting Patrons and 3400 free ones. Not even 1% backed so far, therefore I am asking myself if all this makes sense at all. I was at least hoping for my Patrons. If 200-300 that’s less than 10% ordered one, the production could be financed and no need for any exposure.

Josh Barrie

That said, I don't think the SpX-R supports AptX-LL? It will do Adaptive, but that still has 2-3x more latency than LL. LL has been deprecated and is being phased out by Adaptive, anyways. According to Oluv's IndieGoGo specs, they will support "A2DP, AVRCP, HFP, SBC, AAC, aptX™', aptX adaptive™, APTX-LITE, LC3". Oluv would have to confirm if there is LL support. Also, I am assuming he meant AptX-LIVE, since I don't think AptX-LITE exists.

oluvsgadgets

Probably not, a lot of work with no real benefit

Hi Oluv, Thank you very much for your work. Several products I chose based on your reviews (Sennheiser HD58X, Uboom X, Uboom L, Tribit StormBox Micro) bring joy to me and my family every day. I’m really glad that the super headphones project has finally launched, and I truly hope it will be successful. Have you considered making short-form videos on platforms like YouTube Shorts, TikTok, or Instagram Reels to help more people discover your work? I’m sure there are many fans of great sound who simply haven’t found you yet. Of course, after the holidays, I’ll try to place a pre-order for the headphones. Thanks again for everything you do to make good sound accessible to everyone.

It's not just the audio scene which is only filled with paid reviews, everything is from cars to laptops and it's TERRIBLE... I'm afraid that even if you send it to some "reviewers", they'll just say that it's a great neutral wireless headphone for that pre order price (even if that might be enough for some audiophiles), really doubt that any of them would say that it's something extraordinary even if it is in fact the best sounding headphone that they ever heard. Still, as it stands, some public awareness about the product is definitely needed at this point and IMHO you should send out as many samples as you can to people with reach because it can only improve things, maby Crinacle? He at least has the kh80, no way that SpX-R won't sound closer to the Kh80 to him than the other headphones..

Josh Barrie

This is true right here... Though I assume most of us who are interested in a headphone like these are not of the younger crowd, they (the younger generations of Z/Alpha) have the attention span of a gnat. So, YouTube Shorts and TikTok would be a good start.
