The Moondrop Edge is a nice budged ANC headphone which is equipped with 5 PEQ filters. Despite some limitations I tried to create an EQ which would bring the sound a bit closer to what speakers sound like, let's check if I managed also compared against the SpX-R at the very end.

Although there are some quirks here and there, like for example the volume up button being located at the bottom, and the app which doesn't always work properly, I think the Moondrop Edge can easily be recommended to those seeking for some nice sounding headphone if you stay away from the built in presets and tweak the sound on your own.

The app is quite powerful and let's you also switch between different gain settings. ANC changes the sound though, compared to the other modes and would need extra adjustment. My EQ was created for ANC off.

The built in presets do all not sound really decent.

But there is a huge collection of user presets that you can like, download and try. There is also a "mine" section, where own EQs should be saved, you need to create a Moondrop account to be able to save some own settings, nevertheless I was not able to find any of my created settings anywhere.

The 5-band parametric EQ has some advanced functions and lets you select between different targets and then autoEQ towards these. Honestly I found them all to sound off. You can either control the values through some slider or dial them in directly, but there is no way to enter minus values, therefore operating the EQ was a bit awkward.

I’m looking forward to hearing the podcast. Now you’ve tried these, I was wondering if you’d work your magic on the Space Travel 2 Ultra which also has the same EQ functionality. 😉😀

I have the old Space Travel somewhere or at least it should be somewhere, the filters were way too limited to achieve something usable. Besides inears are impossible to correct with just 5 filters let alone individually for different ears. I would like to try the Nothing headphone next, as I think it could be improved a lot with the given filters.

I like that you now tell us interactively what is being played. This is a huge improvement of your podcast. I hope you do it this way in the future :) Thanks

Very interested in the Nothing Headphone EQ potential especially for 200€ rn, how was the build quality when you checked it in store?

Build quality is great also love that transparent design, but ear pads are very small. People complaining about the SpX-R pads (like Resolve) will have even more problems with the Nothing
