Teufel Rockster 2 vs JBL Partybox 720 - in the open field (Patreon)

I only got the Rockster 2 for two days, so we immediately got out to test it against the JBL Partybox 720 in the open field despite the bad weather and some wind.

Let me know which you think performed better.

I'd say the Teufel is definitely better at very high volumes; It's a pity the JBL distorts this much, honestly IDK what just happened to them, older speaker although having some flaws, like reduced bass, at least sounded very clean up to maximum, I still remember that old video of the Partybox 1000 (against the SoundBoks) outdoor; and sounded really good up to max. At this point they should just get rid of the 720, and put batteries and optimise the next gen Ultimate imo.

I think people complained that the Partybox 1000 reduced the bass too much at high volume, so JBL increased the bass with the 720 but that led to inevitable distortion, like the Boombox 4.

the 1000 still sounds pretty "thick" at max volume, this big bass loss impression was given cause low frequencies were exaggerated a lot by default, way more than these newer models, and Bass Boost 1 was more aggressive tho, so much so that with some certain songs you could hit bass (40-60Hz region) limit at like 50% volume; sounding incredibly powerful, but ofc at max the bass reduction was a lot more noticeable. But trust me it sounds very thick up to max

I think the og teufel rockstar the second generation is louder but i dont know if that is true overall the DSP of the new one is better because it remains clean up to maxmium at rhe other hand the tuning seems a bit more boxy then the older version it might be can inproved with adjustments ofc my teufel rockstar can last at least 30 minutes on max volume but yeah

Rockster is pretty impressive actually, it's maby twice as loud in some cases here.
