It's embarassing for one of the biggest audio companies to release great sounding speakers like the Xtreme 5 along with such crap like the Go 5, which is just unacceptable in 2026 for 50€!

I really wonder if these are the same engineersn and if they are proud of their results.

Comparing the Xtreme 5 to the Helsinki could be interesting 👍🏼

Brought the Go 2 as my entry into BT speakers and kept it as a relic and a reminder of my amateur choices. Got a Go 3 for almost half the price and just gave it away as it lost all rubber footing and logo so selling it was kinda tricky, tried the Go 4 in a store (at that time I had the Micro 2) and I left the store with an "oof" inside thought. At least the Tribit Pocket Go (bought around $17) tries to play longer at 20h battery life and has cleaner mids for my podcast listening sessions in my work breaks. My Micro 2 has been used by my folks at home for their portable entertainment, and haven't been using it personally as I daily drive my UBoom L at home more often. Listening to the Go 5 with your testing just makes me wanna stay away from any pocket speakers JBL is releasing nowadays. Doesn't even reach 10hrs battery life with an unacceptable sound. Though I have a reason to get the Xtreme 5 someday, maybe on a sale, as it just fits better on a backpack for my outdoor endeavors than the chonky UBoom X I have lol.

I am still hoping for an audiophile pocket speaker like the P2, the VIFA City but more modern with some dynamic bass boost for low levels etc.

Vifa City is definitely in the right direction, but its not sold as anywhere as I would want it, and the dynamic boost for lower levels is something that always kept me listening to the Uboom L all these years. Hoping for the best in this pocket category.
