I attached a measurement of both based on the pink noise I played during this video. 

Towards the end I also featured the HD800S playing against the Utopia.

Utopia manchmal ein wenig brummig im Vergleich zum Elex. Elex näselt einen Tick mehr. Höhen beim Utopia spritziger, aber ab und an einen kleinen Hauch zu betont in den ganz oberen Frequenzen. Bin ein bisschen hin- und hergerissen. Je nach Art der Musik gefällt mir der Utopia besser. Unterm Strich wenn man den Preis dazu nimmt ist der Elec der bessere Allrounder. Der Sennheiser kommt nicht mit. Ich verstehe die Abstimmung über 10K nicht so ganz….. Geile Playlist und wieder einmal danke!

Elex = 2% more neutral, Utopia = 10% more soundstage + 7% more detail Also, the fact Focal does not offer replaceable headbands means they expect you buy a new (o_o)phone every year or two.

Excellent, this new way to edit and not show the phone change anymore, it's much better for those who are listening to the instant cut due to the auditory memory that is very short. Oluv, a big hug from Brazil (Rio de Janeiro)

Utopia definitely sounds a bit better overall compared to Elex. Love them, have to listen to them now in real life, but I'm afraid I wouldn't give 4K for any headphones. Elex are sweet though for the price, I guess. BTW, I just hate this metallic sound of HD800S (heard them in a store) , they are detailed by they make me sick. Listening on my HD650.

Amazing comparison. Utopia is better, very present sound, imaging is outstanding. But Elex, for the price will be my next headphone. 3300€ dont make sense the sound difference...
