Tribit Stormbox Blast vs JBL Partybox Encore (Patreon)

After having finished the Enciore/Boombox 3 video I immediately shot this video where the Encore battery died. It was not fully charged but LEDs indicated like 75%. Having played for maybe 40 minutes altogether the battery performance of the Encore seems pretty weak. I haven’t charged the Tribit since my last videos against the Boombox 3 and it is still going strong. So keep that in mind if you consider getting the Encore. It would seem as if JBL castrated their products on purpose, because aside from the battery the Encore is a really great overall package, but I would probably take the Tribit if I was in the market for a compact portable Boombox.

Did they show you that in the jbl partybox app? I have the same problem, the speaker shows 75% and 14% in the application. After turning the speaker on and off, the battery in the app repairs

They nerfed the battery in the PartyBox 100 also. Some controller chose to cut costs I guess. Yet the people still buy the products...

At normal volume the Encore sounds clearer, bigger and more defined but at maximum the tribit is louder but boomier at the same time which is great for outside. I think the JBL should be equally loud if it hasn’t too much concentration in the lower frequencies who know But it still sounds impressive for only 2 drivers and 1 subwoofer.

Oluv, please try this eq on the motion+. I did a frequency sweep and it is quite fine, except my room's influence. 80:-3 150:-1 300:+2 500:-2 700:-1 1k:+3 5k:-1 8k:+2 12k:+6 It's not mine, but I found it with a minidsp umik-1 measurement which looked pretty flat. And with a sweep it it to some degree

Interesting comparison, thanks! Regarding really all aspects of both speakers for me the Tribit will win. But they are very close, though sounding quite different. Nice! 👍🏼

Well i think that after unboxing the encore it is important to fully drain the battery and then charge it to 100%, the 75% indication mightve been false, as most unboxed products arent fully charged to get tested right after its out of the assembley line.
