JBL Partybox Encore vs Partybox 100 (Patreon)

I was surprised how well the small Encore could keep up with the larger one up to maximum volume, but battery life is really bad which is the main reason I will return the Encore again, apart from that definitely one of the best and most impressive partyboxes from JBL so far.

I found someone selling a new encore for 200 dollars. Is it worth it at that price point or should I still get the tribit storm box blast

It’s the encore essential but he has a lot of other speakers. It’s a seller on Mercari

I think the Tribit is a no brainer, the Encore would be as well but that battery life makes it unusable.

I still think that the overall package of the boombox 3 is better, it has a deeper bass than both, mids are more prenounced and highs are just boosted at high levels to add more decibels.. don't forget about battery which is insane on the boombox 3... i wanted to buy the encore but then i saw the battery problems, and immediately went to the boombox 3. It is a major improvment over the boombox 2 in every aspect so yea

With 549€ the Boombox is everthing but a good overall package. For less than half you can get the Stormbox Blast, which is as loud with more kickbass, slightly less deep bass, pretty much the same battery life for less than half. You can get 2 for the price of 1 boombox 3 while still saving some money.

By seing how impresive speakers are becoming for their size and price Old decent speakers like the Exos 9 or the Boomster XL are becoming obsolete, especially at high levels

Actually it's close to the boombox 2 regarding sound. And the bass is just with 1 db better at max, so no improvement there at all. The battery is the same, design is nicer, but it's not worth the upgrade

Tribit stormbox blast is right now at amazon.com for 169$. Great price for it

oluv, where would you place the hk go & play in your list? is it still the best in its size and price class or would you upgrade to another same size loudspeaker? Danke dir :-)

Actually it’s been quite long I have owned the go+play. But I remember the Onyx Studio to have sounded better with a nicer balanced sound. The go+play has some weird sounding treble. Neither does it sound impressive at low levels while at high levels it falls far short behind speakers like the Stormbox Blast or Boombox 3 regarding power etc. It could definitely take a successor model soon as I liked the design.

Had anybody a chance to hear the "Esential" version of the Encore? I was wondering if the sound remained the same, and the only differences are the extra functions and the battery?
