(not spoiler) zeke isnt control by the vow is because he isnt the founding titan, he didnt get the memory of the first king of wall so thus not following his ideal so he can nullify the vow (while the kings before cant cause they are founding titan and thus inherit the memories of the first king of the wall and control by the ideal)

It was poorly explained in the anime. But Zeke didn't have the founder titan allowing him to bypass the vow. Zeke pretended to still be under the vow to trick eren into revealing his true intentions

Also you guys are so hellbent on trying to decide which side is good or bad. The thing about reality and war is that there isn't really a truly good or bad side. The whole point of AoT is that things are never so simple, everything is decided by what people THINK is the case.

i don’t know where you are in terms of episode now. but Zeke still doesn’t have the founder. Those with the Founding Titan all enter the Paths Dimension whenever they want to harness it’s full power. Ymir only listens to those of Royal Blood but of course the only way to communicate with her is by having the Founding Titan (because that’s the only way to get to the Paths). with eren and zeke coming into contact they were both sent to that plane as they were both required to be there. Eren NEEDS zeke to be in the paths (royal blood) so they’re constantly connected. However that means that Zeke, someone without the founding titan has now entered a plane where he is the only one listened to. That’s how he nullified the vow renouncing war, because he doesn’t have the founding titan and thus the vow never applied to him.

She isn't just giving zeke powers. The founding titan can access the paths, zeke couldn't as the beast titan. When they came in contact, it gave zeke access to the paths and essentially infinite time. Because he didn't arrive via the founding titan he essentially found a back door into the paths and now he can command ymir because he has royal blood and she is a slave to royal blood. Eren has the founder but can command ymir cuz he isn't royal

Mr. Ksaver also told him how to get around the vow renouncing war. The line Zeke says is kinda confusing cause he already knew from Mr. Ksaver that the vow would not effect him. Mr. Ksaver just didn't understand that ymir is a slave to the royals and not the founding.

Bertolotolo was exceptionally good at using the colossal titan, that's why he didn't cause a giant crater when he transformed in season 1. He was able to use the colossal well the first time he transformed, which they said was very difficult.

The memory being triggered by Reiner touching Porco was likely because Reiner was also touching Eren at the time, who has the founding titan. Historia also could trigger memories when she touched Ymir's letter, likely because Historia has royal blood.

Zeke is the only person with royal blood to enter the paths without inheriting the founding titan. Because he didnt have the founding titan, he wasn't bound by the vow renouncing war, and he got Ymir to do away with it completely for the future. Also, Eren needed to be in contact with Zeke when he's a titan, and only when they are im proximity of the walls so he can activate the rumbling. When they were on Marley, it was too far away. If he betrayed Zeke on Paradis osland too soon, he can't force Zeke to trasform, so he wouldn't be able to obtain the founding titan power. The only way was to pretend to be on his side, so Zeke would come into contact with him voluntarily. Plus, when they arrived back on the island after the raid on Marley, Zeke and Eren were seperated immediately so they coudln't come into contact, and Eren did not know where Zeke was, nor did Zeke know where Eren was.
