LOL I'm somewhere between Seb and everyone else. I loved the drama of Squid Games, and how much it makes you think about humanity and morality, and seeing how different people react when pushed to the edge. But I hate the gore and how miserable the show is. I hate watching a show where I know almost every single character I grow to love is going to end up dying and/or killing another character I love. Ali's death was BRUTAL. That being said, I'm excited for y'all to watch season 2 and 3!

I agree with you, Seb—I was never into shows like Squid Game either. Honestly, I was never caught up in the hype around it. I only ended up watching all the seasons together when the third one came out, just to see what the fuss was about since everyone was talking about it everywhere. But even after watching, it never really interested me that much.

I’m into shows where people die and they fight for survival. I do enjoy those kinda shows and movies. I do think season 2 and 3 are better than season 1. It’s also my favorite show that I’ve ever watched as well cuz of season 3. Also next season we get more attachments and main characters. I also love how they did the squid game characters. I’m excited for season 2 as well. I think you guys will love it a lot

Glad we made it to the finale! I think it's important to remember that Squid Games is also a metaphor for society. It's a mirror of real life. It shows how society rewards the ruthless, punishes the vulnerable and disguises cruelty as competition. It dares us to ask 'if the game is rigged why are we still playing' the message is really that Capitalism is the deadly game and we're all players. South Korea itself has extreme differences in rich and wealthy as you saw throughout the show (from sangwoo's mother to the old man) so it tapped into a very politically topical issue. The games itself is a metaphor for modern capitalist society amd how extreme inequality can lead to moral collapse. As in real life there's competition in a sense where people are forced to step on others to survive. So while the guy's reason for the games seems silly it's really a reflection on humanity. Hence he asks if Gi-Hun still has faith in people as ultimately old man believed that humanity is ultimately selfish and it's every man for themselves (as well as of course this idea of extreme rich vs extreme poor) I believe Squid Game season 1 episodes were banned in North Korea actually as a dangerous critique of economic inequality It's not my absolute favourite show as there is a few flaws, however Season 2 is really good, so I really recommend you watch as it gives you a bit more depth into things like the pink suit people and has a bit more humour in it....

Season 2 and 3 are so much more about the characters than the games themselves and more emotional so I definitely recommend you continue watching!

If you notice, in the episode called hell. All of their deaths were foreshadowed. Snake man jumped off a bridge, SaeByok held a knife to someone’s throat, Ali stole money, GiHun swore on his mother’s life, the friend was offing himself in water…. Fun Easter egg

More emotional is debatable. At least for season 2 which imo has a much more lighthearted feel to it but I am excited to see how they feel about it.

I'm surprised to see so many people saying seasons 2 and 3 are better than this season. I still think season 1 is the superior season of the franchise and has the best writing. Imo season 3 is actually the weakest, but I do enjoy all of them and think y'all will enjoy them too
