In my opinion I just think Yaga purposefully let himself die so that they won't force him to make cursed corpses. He was already sentenced to death, but they were holding him prisoner for a while in the hopes of him revealing his technique. He obviously told Gakuganji, but it's not like they can create the cursed corpses without Yaga, so it didn't matter at that point. Also yea, the fit Yuji was wearing is a refence to Naruto, just like the Maki vs the Kikuru unit was a reference to Kill bill.

It’s rotoscoping, and it is also the animators flexing hard, and in my opinion this is the weakest episode of the season. Insane quality. As far the plot, they just need Hakari for the Culling Games. It’s also important to note the Culling Games have already started in the designated locations (colonies). Yuji/Megumi just haven’t joined yet. They wanted to get some help first, at Yuta’s suggestion. He was a suspended 3rd year they’ve never met. Gojo mentioned him in season 1 as “someone that can get as strong as me”.

The animation in this episode is SO GOOD. But a couple of things- both Seb and Ben as well as Charlie are correct as to why Yuji got made out by Kirara and Hakari. Like Seb and Ben said, Kirara called Hakari which is their signal for when something is up, but then after the phone call when Hakari gave Yuji the drink and mentioned Gojo and Yuji said "who's Gojo?", that was also the nail in the coffin that something is going on. Because like Hakari said, EVERYONE in Jujutsu society knows who Satoru Gojo is. Hakari got kicked out of school for clashing with the higher ups, and in solidarity, Kirara left the school with him. Hakari is a year older than Yuta, Panda, Inumaki, and Maki, so he's two years older than Megumi and Yuji. He left before he was ever given his sorcerer rank, but it's understood that Hakari is absolutely a Grade 1 sorcerer, so he is on the same level as Nanami was, MeiMei, Todo, Yaga (principal that was just killed), and Kusakabe (the man that was with the woman who saw her son in the cursed corpse body at the beginning of the episode). Hakari has one of the most insane Domains in the series, which we will see later on. He is insanely powerful and strong and like y'all clocked at the end, he is the one that they were talking about needing because he's as strong and they will absolutely need him and Kirara for the Culling Games.
