Jello covered marshmallows Bag of marshmallows Bowl of water Plastic Bag(s) filled with different powdered jello flavors You take the marshmallows and dip them in the water. Then toss them in the bag of powdered jello and shake it while closed. Take out the marshmallows and let them dry on a tray. You can eat them after an hour but they are best the next day when really crispy.

green olives + brine mixed with cream cheese stuffed into celery (or on graham crackers if you're freaky like me and my grandpa)

Flour and water and a pinch of salt to create a dry dough. Roll out super thin and cut into noodles. Boil in chicken broth - fresh noodles. So good.

Twinkie Weiner Sandwiches from Weird Al's UHF. You cut open the bottom of a Twinkie, put a hot dog in it, and top it off with spray cheese. It's surprisingly decent.

Gavin McGrew

Easiest flatbread I've ever made. Literally just equal parts flour and unflavored Greek yogurt. Mix until it's a nice dough, flatten out thin, throw it in a pan for a couple minutes on each side, done.

Cinnamon/churro waffles. 1/4 cup any batter mix. 1/4 cup any kind of milk (whole, soy, almond). 1 egg. The cinnamon is where you can get fancy. 1/2 tsp of Ceylon, Korintje, or Saigon variety. Pour it all in a waffle maker, the flip handle kind is fun. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top after it's done.

you need: sausage (any kind, Italian, spicy, what the heck ever), whatever pasta, milder herb (I’d go sage?), Parmesan cheese. get the sausage into lil chunks or discs, fry em on the stovetop in butter until they look crispy. boil the pasta same time. Cut that herb pretty small, you want like two handfuls or something? When the pasta is done, chuck the herbs into the sausage mix mix mix add the pasta and some of the pasta water mix mix mix then salt pepper and a metric eff-ton of Parmesan. done and dusted.

Romanian Kosher Garlic Dill Pickle Recipe To be made in standard sized Mason jars. • Brine (about 2 Tbsp Kosher salt for every cup of water, if making a batch 1 Cup for 18 Cup of water) • Pickling Cucumbers, washed thoroughly in cool water with soft brush • Dill • Pickling spice - a heaping teaspoon per jar. Some pickling spices, aimed for pickling a corned beef, will have a lot of cloves. If so, take most of them out. • Peeled Garlic cloves - 2-3 per jar (fewer if cloves are very large) • Dried red peppers - 1-2 per jar, or ½ tsp red pepper seeds • White vinegar - a teaspoon floated on top of the brine "to make the reaction go the right way" (per our Dad - never really understood what that means) 1. Load the cucumbers into the jars, making sure that none of them extend above the shoulder of the jar. 2. Stuff in a modest bunch of dill, 3-4 sprigs depending on how bushy they are. 3. Add pickling spices, garlic, and pepper. Poke down into the jar, if necessary. 4. Fill jars with brine to just above shoulder of jar, leaving ½ inch or so space above. Depending on the geometry of the pickles, each jar will take 2 cups of brine, or so. [From this point forward, jostle the jars as little as possible.] 5. “Float” a tsp of white (not wine or cider) vinegar on top of the brine in each jar. 6. Place a lid on each jar, and then a band. Start by tightening the bands gently, then snug up after you’re sure the lids are well centered. The best seal is made with snug-tight, not super tight tops. For future batches, un-corroded bands can be reused. Lids cannot be reused. 7. Place the jars in a cool, dark place (e.g., basement cabinet). After a couple of days, the brine will get cloudy, indicated fermentation has begun. After a couple of weeks, the brine will turn clear again, indicating that fermentation is complete and pickles are ready to eat. Sealed jars can be stored in the same cool, dark place, but refrigerating will promote longer shelf life. If you like Pickles, these are the best there is.

Tortilla Soup: 1 can (16 oz.) refried beans 1 can (14.5 oz) chicken broth 1 medium size skinless chicken breast cooked and cut into chunks 1 can (11 oz.) whole kernel corn with liquid (can substitute frozen corn and a little water) 1 can (15.5 oz.) black beans, rinsed and drained 1 cup of medium chunky salsa 1-2 cups shredded (we like sharp) cheddar cheese, divided Tortilla chips (optional) Combine first six ingredients in a 3-quart saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring until refried beans are completely mixed with the other ingredients. Turn heat to low and simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add ½-1 cup cheese; stir until melted. Remove from heat. Serve with tortilla chips crumbled on top (or place chips in bowl and ladle soup on top) and additional cheddar cheese.

Dishwasher salmon is a simple dare food - wrap a salmon and some lemon slices in foil and put it in your dishwasher for a cycle. https://www.food.com/recipe/dishwasher-salmon-13246 I looked on Youtube and I see there are some people who have tried and there's an old Vincent Price clip of him making it for TV. I suspect most of the visual interest comes from stressing out whether it actually works. I'd also recommend mug cakes, where you microwave a cake inside a mug. I'm checking with a friend to see if she has a specific recipe but otherwise you can google 'mug cake' and pick one that looks easy.

Put a small amount of salsa in a pan (smaller pans work best) and make a divot in the salsa. Crack an egg into the middle, and cook covered until the whites are set and the yolk is runny. Put your egg on a piece of buttered toast and spread the yolk. Crusty bread works best but any bread is fine, really. Top with shredded cheese if desired.

Nana's Milwaukee style Tuna Noodle Casserole Things you'll need: -10 oz of Chunk Light Tuna in Water -1x 8oz can of your favorite Campbell's Condensed Cream of Whatever soup (I like cream of potato, Nana used mushroom, but it literally doesn't mater which so long as it's a "Cream of..." soup) -One Pack of 10 Slices of your Favorite cheese, I like Co-Jack or Cheddar -One box (~16oz) of your favorite noodle shape. Generally, elbow macaroni, penne, shells or some other tube shape is best. -1 Heaping teaspoon of your favorite pepper spice blend (My family typically used Mrs. Dash, I use 'Back of the Yards' from the Spice House which is now sold at Jewel-Osco) Recipe: *Preheat oven to 350 F. 1. Cook noodles, you can add chicken bouillon powder to the water for extra flavor if you like. 2. In a medium bowl, combine Tuna, Soup, and Spices. Mix well. 3. Once noodles are cooked, drain and put roughly half into a deep round casserole dish. Spread half of Tuna/Soup mixture on top of noodles. Cover with sliced cheese. Repeat for a second layer. 4. Bake in 350 degree oven for 18-22 minutes or until cheese is bubbly on top and crispy around the edges. 5. Allow to cool 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

If you're talking recipes where you actually do a little cooking, I humbly suggest Scandinavian style pancakes. They're rather close to crepes, and I have a recipe from the Daughters of Norway cookbook from ~1956 that I make all the time. 2c Milk 3/8c sugar 2 eggs 1 yolk Pinch salt 1/2tsp vanilla 1/4 tsp cardamom (I like a half tsp) 1.25c Flour Set the eggs and yolk aside, and mix everything else, but add the flour last. Sift it if you can to avoid clumps, but it's not too bad. Heat your pan and add those eggs to the mix. Put a little butter in the pan and pour the batter into the center of it so it spreads outward with the butter. Fry until it looks firm and flip it and let it cook through (they cook very fast) Slather some jam or jelly in there and fold them over once or twice to serve. I like to make a cream cheese crepe filling, but that's not exactly traditional.

This, but with canned chili is also good imo

smashed cucumber salad is my favorite!! recipe from the Woks of Life https://thewoksoflife.com/smashed-asian-cucumber-salad/: - 2 cucumbers - 1 tsp salt - 2 tsp sugar - 2 tsp sesame oil - 3 tsp soy sauce - 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar - 3 cloves minced garlic - chili oil (optional) 1. Make the dressing by combining the salt, sugar, sesame oil, light soy sauce, and rice vinegar. Stir until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved. Set aside. 2. On a cutting board, lay a large knife flat against the cucumber, and smash it lightly with your other hand. The cucumber should crack open and smash into four sections. Repeat along its full length. Once the whole cucumber is completely open, cut it into bite-sized pieces. 3. In a large bowl, mix the cut cucumber with the prepared dressing, garlic and chili oil. Toss it well and serve.

Here's a meal that got me through a lot of nights as a student. Comes together in 20-30 mins including boiling the water. Simple Healthy Pesto Pasta! 1x However much pasta you want to cook. (150~g is a good single portion for me) 2x Big spoonfulls of storebought jarred pesto sauce. Look for one that's Basil, Cashews, and Cheese (gran padano or parmesan) 1-2x handfulls of chopped broccoli. Salt and Pepper to taste Steps: 1. Pasta in boiling water. the less water you use the creamier it will be. Enough to just barely cover the water is perfect. Stir often. 2. Steam/boil (or microwave with water) your broccoli. Personally I just dump it in with the pasta when there's a couple minutes left. 3. Drain excess water into cup. 4. Take off the heat and add your pesto mix, stir until it looks creamy/saucy. If it's too clumpy add some water back in (it'll dry as it cools!) Salt and pepper garnish to taste and enjoy! Fast and tasty. Feels healthy because it's green. :)

Last one for now I swear. "Fluffy Cookies" curtesy of B. Dylan Hollis You will need: 1x box of your favorite cake mix. 1x Tub of Original Cool Whip, not the low-fat kind. Enough powdered sugar to dredge in. and... That's it. Recipe: *preheat oven to 350 F 1. Mix Cake mix and Cool Whip until thoroughly combined. 2. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, scoop the dough into ~1-1.5 balls and roll in powdered sugar to coat. 3. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet. 4. Bake for 12-14 minutes. Enjoy!

I serve these meatballs at almost every party: - two bags Party Meatballs from Trader Joe’s (don’t get the Italian style, just plain frozen meatballs) - 12 oz of Heinz Chili Sauce - 10 oz Grape Jelly Combine chili sauce and grape jelly in pot and put over a low heat. Let them melt together. Then add meatballs and cover for about 10 minutes Grape jelly and chili sauce is an odd combo that works so well

For an easy recipe that isn't too boring these peanut butter balls: https://ohsweetbasil.com/chocolate-peanut-butter-truffles/ 1 Cup Powdered Sugar 1 Cup Peanut Butter 2 Tbsp Butter softened (or cream cheese) 2 Cups Chocolate for Melting Optional: 1/4 Cup chopped roasted peanuts Combine sugar, peanut butter, and butter together, then shape into small balls. (Dealers choice but the recipe suggests 1/2inch-3/4inch) Put the balls on a wax or parchment paper lined baking sheet and cover loosely to chill in the freezer for 30 minutes. When ready melt the chocolate either with a heat safe bowl over a pot of boiling water (double boiler method) or in the microwave (low power for 30 seconds, stir, then 10 second bursts with stirring in between until the chocolate is melted) once chocolate is melted dip the balls one at a time, rolling in the chocolate and then shake off the excess before placing back on parchment/wax paper. If adding the peanuts sprinkle on each truffle immediately before the chocolate has time to set. Once it's dipped keep in the fridge until ready to serve.

This is a real thing we did as kids. TORTILLA SURPRISE: Step 1: Place a flour tortilla in your microwave (no plate if you desire more flavor) Step 2: Turn the microwave on for 30 seconds. Step 3: Remove the tortilla and eat it. When a tortilla is placed in a microwave on its own, it becomes a flavor sponge for everything that has been cooked in the microwave before it. The surprise comes not knowing what flavor it will absorb. The longer you've gone without cleaning the microwave, the more flavor there is to taste. This goes for many things in life.

Shepherd's pie: Soften onion, carrot, and celery in a pan that can also go in the oven. Once softened add ground beef. Once ground beef is cooked add tomato paste, garlic, oregano, and thyme till fragrant. At the same time as cooking veggie and beef boil potatoes in salted water till softened. Mash potatoes once softened then add the mashed potatoes to the top of ground beef and veggie mixture. Spread potatoes out to cover the meat and veggies till mostly covered. Add cheese to the top of potatoes and broil in the oven till cheese is browned. And there you have it easy shepherds pie!

Jacob Keller

Canned tuna, shredded cheese, mayo, seasoning of your choice, mixed together. Put on English muffin and bake or air fry until cheese melts. Can add chopped veggies or any thing you'd put in a tuna salad. I've used a variety of seasonings including pepper, oregano, thyme, garlic or onion powder.

Simple Peanut Butter Caramel - Take 1/4 cup peanut butter, and 1/2 cup Maple Syrup and gently heat in a small pot on the stovetop. Add some vanilla extract if you want it extra punchy, and salt to taste. If your maple syrup is thin it may take longer. The mixture should thicken over time, once it boils that is a good sign you are almost done. May take 2-5 minutes to while boiling to achieve caramel consistency. An easy way to tell if it’s finished is take a cold spoon and drizzle some of the mixture onto it and that should give you an idea of what the consistency will be. Let cool, then enjoy.

From Hawaii: you sprinkle frurikake seasoning onto popcorn. You can also add the smaller sized senbei/arare for crunch if you can find easily

There's a simple dip recipe we do for parties It takes equal parts by weight of: - Cottage Cheese - Shredded Mexican Cheese - Sour Cream also - thinly-sliced chives (green onions are also ok) to taste Mix together in a serving bowl, and serve with Fritos scoops (or other scoop corn chip)

Ryan Johnson

Do you add the required things for the cake mix first? (like the egg/water)

boredmaster

Nope. The butter and the juices from the pineapple and pie filling all absorb and make a delicious crust.

A bowl of kitsune yakisoba

This is a recipe my mom taught me. I don't know the exact name of it, I think she made it up. So it's good to experiment with the portioning and seasoning to your liking. I usually cook this in a wok, but a skillet is fine if you have don't have a wok on hand. Ingredients: Vegetable oil (or whatever fat/oil you prefer to cook your meat and veggies in) 1 lb ground beef 1 onion Spring onions About 3-4 bok choy (or more if you prefer) 1 package of Bung Gao noodles Curry Powder Maggi Sauce Directions 1) cut up bok choy, put it in a huge bowl and fill it up with water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes or more (depending on how sandy it is) so the sand falls down to the bottom of the bowl 2) dice up onions set it to the side 3) dice up spring onions, set it to the side 4) Heat up oil on medium high heat, saute onions until translucent 5) add in ground beef and cook until all brown 6) drain bok choy, stir and fry it in the wok 7) boil water and cook bung gao to the directions of the package (or if it's not on there or in a different language, cook it looks or tastes soft) 8) when noodles are cooked, drain water and add in the noodles to the wok, put on low medium heat on the stove 9) stir and mix up everything in the wok, then season it with curry powder and Maggi sauce to taste (sometimes if it's not tasty enough, add in a little more Maggi sauce, and add in more gradually if it's not to your liking) 10) top it with green onions and serve

...........knischbrot? Technically simple, just very *involved*. You'd need a mixer. I have no idea what your standards for "simple" are. XD;;

Great idea! I look forward to this video. Here’s one I like: Simple Chilaquiles: -fry an egg or two and season with salt, pepper, and chili powder -throw some tortilla chips into a frying pan, I do about a handful or two per person, and pour in enough enchilada sauce to just cover the chips (I’ve also used salsa in a pinch). Cook until warmed through, chips should get a little soft but retain some crunch -plate with fried egg and cheese on top! Optional: I like to add some rotisserie chicken and avocado on top. I also like to deseed a chile or jalapeño and add it to the enchilada sauce if it’s not spicy enough.

i wanna submit a recipe. plenty of green sichuan peppercorns, coriander seeds, and cardamom in a mortar and pestle. work it so it gets fiiIiiIiiine. start ginger in the pan if you want. saute it all up with chicken thighs and a splash of a neutral oil. onions welcome. serve over basmati rice (sesame seeds and green onions for presentation, even), or cold over a bed of spinach or whatever! i don't make the rules (4-7 ingredients)

Larry yy

can you use mushroom-based vegetarian oyster-flavored sauce for this? (being as wordy as i can with the product name)

Larry yy

ersatz cottage pie. throw a couple potatoes in the oven or microwave. in a frying pan, toss some ground turkey, thyme, salt, frozen peas/corn, carrot medallions. freestyle with more or fewer ingredients. black pepper, a few fennel seeds. sub oregano or marjoram for thyme, etc etc. add the turkey first and set the stovetop temperature to anything around medium heat, low or high in that range. if there's liquid in the pan at the end, the potato you throw into the bowl with it ought to absorb that. mush it all around to get an acceptable consistency before eating
