Radio Star is pretty well-known for asking tough and risque questions so it's fun especially when the guests are not shy about answering them xD This episode was filmed in 2016 I believe, so around 2 years before the Burning Sun Scandal? That's right around the time we start to see the members throw subtle shade at Seungri's "friends" and not just in this interview. About TOP's weed "scandal": Back when the news was first revealed, the media and general public were quick to start a witch hunt over this (haters has always loved to jump on BB over the smallest problems back then since they are one of the most well-loved groups, so imagine how crazy they went after him over weed usage) so it blew out of proportion and TOP ended up attempted self-exit. Thankfully he survived but the media continued to pester him and his family, even while he was hospitalized. It got to a point where TOP once said he will never release/promote music in Korea again. Nowadays, people mostly don't care about this controversy anymore except the select few haters. Personally, I'm from an Asian country with extremely tough rules on drug usage as well, but it didn't really bother me that much... It's true that he broke the law, but it wasn't like he harmed someone else in the course of using weed/marijuana. I felt bad for him more than anything else. In his most recent interview in 2025, he mentioned that he left BB for two reasons: 1) he felt ashamed of himself because of this controversy and didn't want to implicate the remaining members, and 2) he feels ready to leave behind the idol life and start a new chapter (either continue as an actor or solo artist).
