Ciao amici come state?

Hi friends, how are you?
My vacation has started, and before heading to Corsica, I went to visit some friends in France and made a stop in Avignon—the City of Popes.
Aside from the scorching heat, I really loved this medieval Provençal city, enclosed within its walls and bordered by the Rhône River.
The Palace of the Popes and the Pont Saint-Bénézet—better known as the Bridge of Avignon (do you remember the song... sur le pont d'Avignon, l'on y danse...?)—are World Heritage Sites; soaking up a bit of this heritage helps us broaden our horizons and discover new stories and traditions.
And, of course, there’s the beautiful old-fashioned carousel, the little tourist train that takes you around the city, and the market stalls that bring the streets to life.
Speaking of shopping, I couldn't possibly miss out on the sales—so I just had to buy myself a pair of shoes!
If you happen to be passing through, stop for a day and immerse yourself in the papal history of the 14th century—perhaps even during the Theater Festival, which rivals only Edinburgh's in terms of scale in Europe.
That would be a great reason for me to go back, too. Have you ever been there?
A quick break in the room, and then back out into the streets to look for a nice little restaurant for dinner.
Hugs, as always.
