It feels good to be back. :)

And we have a new whirlwind character! Meet James. James never skips arm day. Or an opportunity to bust one's balls.

I'm aiming to have an average of three new pages of Elephant Town done every Monday for you, fewer when they're complicated, more when they're easy.

If you're a paying patron at any level, you'll keep seeing them!

Right now the lowest tier is $2/month ($22.80 if you join annually!), but I'm "unpublishing" this tier on FRIDAY. Which means, if you're already in the $2 tier (or if you join it before Friday), hooray, you're locked in and will continue to see all the comics I make! Nothing will change for you. It'll just become a secret tier that no one else can join after Friday.

The new low tier for new members after this week will be $3/month because, well, everything got expensive and my kale plants all died so I need money for kale. This Patreon is mostly for kale money. If you know someone who's wanted to buy me kale for awhile, nudge them to join the $2 tier this week so they don't miss out on feeding me kale!!

Welcome back Elephant Town! My deepest condolences on your Kale. I haven't grown any before (though I've done other dark leafy greens), but it's such a staple in my diet (almost every day) that I really need to have a go and plant some. As a vego, I've happy I've got good iron levels each year, and gave some credit to the Kale, but also assumed the multivitamins were doing the heavy lifting. However I recently had reason to examine the iron quantity in the multi's and there's less than 1 mg, so I guess it's mainly the Kale (with assist from a few other iron-rich veg and all the vit C loaded things that help absorption). I have some envy of James' arms, and look forward to getting to know them, but feel they should probably know better than shaming someone for their clothing choices, even if I also rarely wear dresses and 'may' feel less myself when I do. Perhaps there's some history there that will become apparent tho?

RIP KALE I wish there were a way to keep tiers BUT ALSO adjust it for inflation, since I tried to re-up a limited sub on another Patreon and it ended up kicking me out due to someone else had called shenanigans on some error on Patreon's end and ended up getting in as #21 out of 20, so... I kicked myself out >=( (luckily, it's a friend's Patreon, so he just counted me as part of the tier anyway, haha CONNECTIONS)

Bless you, you know how absurdly difficult it is to intro a character in a way that feels natural and covers as many bases as possible! I spend a lot of time staring at a page full of scribbled out dialogue!

Ahh my fellow Kale Kween! Despite my sad endings with kale this year (and last, for that matter), it's a relatively easy plant to grow - you should try it! As someone with a similar voracity for the stuff, I'd recommend growing at least four plants, maybe six. People thought that was overkill, but when they're small you can't overharvest them (and you'll want to!). Plus you can freeze kale, so once they're big enough, there's no harm in having too much! And all I'll say about James is that they're just as flawed as all the other characters!

Oooh I see that one, too. :) We're about halfway through the book, so it'll probably wrap up in a little less than 40 chapters!

Cool. My webcomic has bonus chapters. I got the idea from a webcomic I use to read eons ago. My bonus chapters are a lot more detailed than the official chapters because I initially was gonna animate them but I don't have the time off that I needed to do that from my irl job. The bonus chapters are canon btw, lol.

Thanks I got the detailed idea from Family Guy, believe it or not. The early seasons were great but the later seasons... I think around seasons 13 and onward developed more details and shading, idk. I haven't watched it in about 4 years. Lol.

I am excited and impressed by how much I already want to roll my eyes at James. Definitely a character introduction that evokes strong feelings :) They are, like everyone else, a person, with all that includes.

yeah, I prolly could do without the tier item, but it feels like I've been part of it so long, I actually missed it when I didn't get a HAND-ILLUSTRATED postcard the FIRST time I got kicked out trying to do the same trick (you's think I would've learned, haha)
