I've been quietly working over here, so I thought I'd post some little side projects I've done on Friday nights of late. :)

I have a private Art Night group that gets together on Friday nights at my house. Sometimes it's one person, sometimes there are so many people they don't fit at the table. Either way, it's always a good time! And it's a really nice excuse to create something I wouldn't normally have time to make.

The last couple of Art Nights were spent creating this tee design for Andrew's shop (Admiral Analog's Audio Assortment), and carving what I've decided to call a Jack Frost O'Lantern.

Andrew is a regular at Art Night, even though he's not someone who regularly draws (to his credit, he ALWAYS draws something when he's here anyway, usually copying a dragon from one of Ryan's DnD books). He came over with a sketch of his idea and watched me work on it from start to finish. Ryan supplied the "make the records on fire" suggestion which, IMO, really improved the whole thing. (But then, when DOESN'T "set it on fire" improve a thing.)

There was one pumpkin left after our pumpkin carving party way back in October, so last week I decided to make it my next Art Night victim. To my surprise the only part that was moldy was the bottom, which I cut off. I went through a few different Santa/snowman/Christmas tree ideas for the image, but that was foolish because Gremlins was the obvious and only Christmas option for this 'kin. I busted out an Xacto knife and went to town.

Ryan watched me put the finishing touches on it and we finally stuck a candle in it and turned all the lights off, and VOILA, it was a success!! He admitted that he didn't expect it to look good, and I admitted that I thought it would look like total trash, but it turned out pretty cool. B)

Andrew's record shop is celebrating its reopening today, with a live concert at 6 pm, in case you're in the area tonight (Sunday the 9th) and looking for some trouble to get into! The shirts we made are limited to just 25, and are $15 a pop. Either way, you should pop into the shop sometime if you're ever around town!

And if you're in town on a Fri/Sat/Sun this week, drop into Piccadilly Posh on East German Street before 4 pm to have a look at my framed Inktober drawings. They're $175 a pop, but if you for-real decide to come out and buy one, let me know and I'll work out a sale price for you for being a patron, because you rule.

The only thing that could improve that gremlin would be to set it on fire.

That's the grand finale on Christmas Eve!

How thoughtful...the squirrels wake up on Christmas morning to a roasted pumpkin treat!

I know it's only been one day, but I'm surprised the raw vegans among my yard squirrels haven't made off with chunks of this thing yet. Maybe they're scared of gremlins? I mean, if they know what's good for them, they do!

Maybe they're keeping their distance because of the ears. It might remind them of hawk wings. Hawks are total JERKS to squirrels. Or maybe they're too polite to rush the buffet before the caterers are obviously done setting up.
