I thought I'd posted most of these! My post-SPX cold wiped me out for a week, so I haven't done a whole lot of drawing since the last update. But I'm happy with the ones I have. :)

I'm still wiggling between which I like better: muted colors (like Tommy's Pizza and the sunflower one) or straight monochromatic (like the purple Town Run and final drawing above). Do you have a favorite? I'm curious to hear your thoughts!

I really like the sunflowers, but that could be a bias because they're one of my favorite flowers. 🌻

Princess St. Sunflowers is by far my favorite. Love the color and the perspective.

Andy Ihnatko

I'm digging the "monochromatic except for this one thing" look.

Beechwood Chip

I don't think either is "better". The muted color is brighter, and seems "story-bookish" to me. More inviting, but less realistic. The mono-color seems more somber, thoughtful, and serious.

love the sunflowers, but also love the chair being the only color int he picture as well. I dont' like, quite so much the totally monichrome ones.

dcorsetto

Thank you so much for your feedback!

Miranda Schubert

The sunflower is too much, to me. The single chair or the fewer colors on the pizza one look better imho.

dcorsetto

SAME. I'm looking for something ALMOST monochromatic, like if you took a photo into Photoshop and just took the saturation down a whole bunch, or laid one color over the whole thing but lightened the opacity.

Miranda Schubert

It totally looks better with the one spot of color. :)

The sewing machine makes so much more sense to my brain with that spot color. I couldn't figure out what it was until I saw your comment, but when I went to the updated one? I could tell right away. Perfecto!

The ones that stood out to me the most were the ones with just a pop of color. I was trying to decide if it'd work to do monochrome with one spot color to set something off, but I don't know if that makes sense for your work.

Cathi Andrews

I really like the monochrome, but perhaps that's also because purple is my favourite colour. I do also like Tommy's, but the sunflowers leaves my brain not sure where to look and darting around the picture - which is unsettling. I'm definitely a fan of the monochrome with colour pop.

Scott Schaper

Another vote for monochrome with one or two objects picked out in a different color; it avoids the monotony of pure monochrome without becoming overwhelming.

Christina

I prefer the muted colors to the monochromatic

Marc Pengryffyn

I'm a bit red-green colourblind, so y'know, but I really love the one with the green chair on the monochrome(?) verandah. Not sure why, but if I were to choose a favourite that'd be it. They're all pretty glorious, though!

Laura Kolker

Tiny green chair caught my eye the most

Dirk Bergstrom

In isolation I like the monochrome pictures, but a whole book of that would get monotonous. Conversely the sunflowers picture is too busy. Spot coloring is a good choice.
