In-The-Yard Figure Drawing! (SFW, bathing suit!) (Patreon)

Why did it take me a whole month to plan another figure drawing session in my yard??

This session was a little trickier than the first one we had, because THE HEAT. We went from 7:30-10:30 so we could avoid the hottest part of the day, but that meant we needed to light the model around 9 (which actually worked out great!), right when the bugs are looking for lamps to buzz around (not so great!!). 

Andrea was such a trooper about the bugs!! And our crew of artists - capped at five so we can still keep a safe distance from each other - all brought headlamps so they could draw after dark. 

I used my iPad, which is its own lamp, so there are a few new bug smears on the surface now. ;)

For the last poses - all 20-minute poses - I drew sketchy versions first, then lowered the opacity on those sketches & drew a simplified version on top of that. So here they are in GIF form!

Andrea actually looks a lot like one of the characters you haven't met yet in Elephant Town, so I'm hoping to get her to model for us more often. :) (Ugh you won't meet this character until like next SPRING!! I wish I could make the whole book now so you can read it all at once and meet everyone immediately!)

We'll try to do figure drawing more often now that I've figured out how to make it work. I really missed drawing humans in person!
