Welcome to Elephant Town, the comic that spends two pages reminding you how annoying it is when the internet won't work.

(Everyone has one of these giant boxes full of wires and tech stuff, right?)

In case you're scratching your head about why Kris is dreaming of curtains and shuddering at the thought of a silhouette behind a window, here's a link to some of her old pages that might help jog your memory!  It's from way back in MAY, which in 2020 years is about a decade.

This story is gonna be SO much easier to follow when it's printed in a book!

Deb with the purple bike

Oh man, Kris' box of networking & computer junk is WAY neater than mine! (Hers is all coiled & labeled and twist-tied. Mine basically looks like black & white plastic spaghetti.)

Jim Avery

I am proud to say that I do not, in fact, have one of those boxes filled with wires and tech stuff. (It's a drawer.)

MaryAnne Glazar

What's with the guy in the window in the 4th panel?

Dean Reilly

It looks like she's thinking about different types of curtains to put up, so her neighbour can't see into her bedroom.

Joanna

Ah, the joy of connection! I love it.

Erik Hawkinson

One of those boxes? No, I think I have at least three.

Katie McMahon

I've got an old Rubbermaid tub with cables and power cords and such. However, whenever I need a specific thing it's rare that I actually find it! Must be tech gremlins. Or my cat.

kaitou

I have a box for each cable type (network, usb, video, disk, async, everything else) and one or two for adapters. (And another two for random wall warts.)

Trebuchet

I don't know about everyone, but I certainly have such a box! Oh, and I've got a database -- ok, spreadsheet -- of all the wall warts.

CompaniaHill

> (Everyone has one of these giant boxes full of wires and tech stuff, right?) "One"? You're cute...

dcorsetto

Nailed it. (I should really include a link to the pages we're referring back to - Kris's first chapter was so long ago now!)

Hugh Eckert

Several boxes. Plus various stuff that's escaped them and gone rogue.

Bingewatch Improv

Just the one, but I periodically purge it of cables that no longer go to anything.

Maura W

Oh, I thought the man had actually followed her to her yoga studio! I have to re-read these pages now that I know it's not supposed to be a thriller...

Minzoku Bokumetsu

The curtains were the FIRST thing I worried about when we moved into our new house, since the prior owners took them all (even the curtain rods!!). Luckily, we got in the habit of moving over the course of a month-ish rather than all at once, since we haven't moved more than a city or two away, so we could manage things like that. Took a few attempts to find rods and curtains we liked, but it was worth it! My spouse still calls them blinds, though (???)

Minzoku Bokumetsu

mostly saying bc I CAN'T forget that scene =o even if 2020 has lasted five centuries

Melody

Came here to say this.

Janne Peltonen

Slightly late to the party, but... three boxes, two large plastic bags, a drawer, and various other places :D But I did actually manage to get rid of all the analog landline stuff a couple years back (at least one big box), I haven't had a landline telephone connection for 17 years now :-P

Hazirah

The cables in that box are so NEAT, I'm jealous

dcorsetto

Thank you! (Based on a true story, the story of me keeping every twist-tie that enters my home.)
