Five hours of figure drawing and I could absolutely keep going, I LAHVE it.

These are from last night's session with Mathew/Babs New! (Mathew is a stellar cartoonist so the nickname "Babs" is to keep the nude modeling identity separate from the cartooning identity.)

Y'all it is HARD to draw and talk! But it was super fun to hold myself accountable for the advice I was spouting. ;)

For example I kept drawing decapitated heads to completion without even suggesting a body. DANIELLE YOU KNOW BETTER.

I encouraged the other draw-ers to draw that knee BIG because even if it looked kinda weird, it probably wouldn't look as weird as they expected it to. It's true! Adding force to forced perspective is only gonna make it look more forced, and forced perspective looks cool as heck.

For this one I tried dropping in three pink contact spots to remind myself to be consistent with the plane...

... and dropped a bit of knowledge about FEET. (They're like triangles, but you've gotta balance them with protruding HEEL and TOE BOX so they stay up better!)

Same basic idea as the contact spots above, I drew an angled rectangle for this one -  like a beach blanket for Mathew to lay on:

And also talked a bit about the head and how I like to draw a skull under it to get the placement of the features figured out.

Thanks to everyone who joined us last night! I hope you had a good time, ya sure seemed to. :) And I hope you learned something useful from me, even if it was small!

Oh, and there were two slides I forgot to post on the earlier figure drawing session:

That last pose was even more extreme than I drew it. That gal can hold insane poses like none other!
