We've had cancelation after cancelation the past month or so for figure drawing, but we were thrilled to have this  professional figure drawing model show up for us last night (a bit more expensive, but worth it!!).

The difference was pretty remarkable; every one of her poses was excellent, and she moved right into them without hesitating or doubting herself. (As someone who used to model, the second most difficult part was picking a pose that was interesting AND that I could hold. The first most difficult part was STAYING STILL.)

I brought only watercolor this time and I'm glad I did. Started with five-minute warmups!

(Four and a half minutes because this was on a watercolor block, and I didn't take into account that I'd need to separate the pages as I go, which takes... well, apparently 30 seconds!)

Moved on to some ten minutes:

(This was one of my favorites. Those feet!!)

We loved her poses so much, we decided to just to different 20-minute poses the rest of the night, instead of sticking with one pose all night.

(RBF was my fault, not hers. Woops!)

(This was my other favorite.)

.... and the last one I didn't finish, because I was having too much fun drawing the shadows on her top half!

Despite not seeing each other in three weeks, the room was silent most of the night, which is also telling; I think if we get a little bored from a pose, we tend to fill in the time with conversation. Which, y'know, isn't bad, but it was nice that we all spent so much attention on our work last night. :)
