Props to all the former Maria's workers who filled me in on kitchen details so this would feel like, y'know, a kitchen.

I'd say "never again" to drawing shelves of to-go boxes and bags of onions, but... well,  next week's pages. *falls to the floor*

Nik

I love seeing these pages!

Ken

I am VERY impressed with the netting on that bag of onions.

William Cole

Dude, you can't just interrupt a man mid-burrito!

Jordan Smith

I love the onomatopoeia! The "rip" is amazing. You nailed the details. I know that microwave's clang and beep in my sleep

Meisterj

That RIP is excellent. Comics are magic. A new busy morning to follow, I what's so important

Cat

The iPod! ❤️

Rae Bennett

I'm not a huge commenter on much of anything, but I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for the onions and to-go boxes...and reflected buildings, and incredible onomatopoeia *rip* and every other perfect little detail in all your art! To have that on top of the realistic and sometimes gut-wrenching character development? It's... *chef's kiss*

Boum

That RIP!!! DANIELLE

Kabluey Crystal

Cliffhanger! Why?!? What is behind that door?

Cab

I GASPED LOUDLY

Cab

You're taking minutia panels to a whole new level.

Ben Hatke

Ooh I was hoping to get back to his story.

Ralph

Everything about these pages is perfect! Loved the tomatoes.

dcorsetto

Thank you!! UGH I wanted so many more pages today, but everything is BACKGROUNDS and like... just wait til you see the place we're going to next week. I'm starting TODAY to get ahead on it!

dcorsetto

Oh we will, and it'll be worth the... um, 4-5 month wait?? WHY DO COMICS TAKE SO LONGGGGG

dcorsetto

Coming from you that has some WEIGHT, background champ!!

Ruth Merriam

B is a metalhead? No. I'm not buying that. I was utterly swept into the world of burritoville and frying chips. I could hear that hustle and rrrrriiIIPPP. And then his mellow was harshed with a yank. Why, dude? It had better be worth it. Ah, but it's Danielle. It will TOTALLY be worth it.

William Cole

That isn't Berto's hand in the iPod panels, so I think the metal belongs to a coworker.

Sabrina

oooh all those DETAILS!!! i didnt even register the “rip” also being…a rip at first, such a cool effect!

Gangler

Mathew doesn't work here, right? Didn't look like a restaurant he worked at, I don't think. So he's probably not making a spectacle of himself with his new persona. This is something else they're seeing.

Emilio Englade

GARRR!! You strike me through the heart, bringing to mind my much-missed 2nd gen iPod Nano! I doubt I will see its like again, outside this comic. :-(

Dean Reilly

Matthew who used to be Paul? He doesn't work in a restaurant, he's a phone tech support rep.

Gangler

Yeah, that's the Mathew. Thank you.

Minzoku Bokumetsu

because you have to DRAW EVERYTHING (or not, but too late to go full minimalist and not have the abrupt style change look weird haha)

Sky

As someone who worked in a cafe kitchen, you succeeded 😁

dcorsetto

THANK YOU that means a lot! Next scene is an actual cafe, so I hope that one meets your approval too!

Steve Boyko

I love the detail of the ancient iPod with the cracked screen. So many little touches like this.

dcorsetto

I was REALLY happy to send this to my friends who used to work at this restaurant, and my friend Jon was like "nailed the busted ipod." I pulled that one out of my ass, I didn't even know they used an iPod!
