I don't own a flask, but this small collection Dustin Harbin's comics is flask-esque in shape and size. Sometimes you gotta get creative for your reference photos.

SPX is in just TWO!! DAYS!! and I'm clearly still not ready for it, because here I am still finishing pencils for next week's Elephant Town! But, I did finish:

A banner stand! Do I have a banner? No! But I'll make one last-minute.

I've gone nearly 20 years without a banner, and this took 30 minutes to make. I followed these instructions by some kid on YouTube (he made it look so easy!), tweaked the measurements, borrowed some PVC cutters from a neighbor, cut the 10-foot poles in the parking lot of Home Depot so they'd fit in my little clown car, and put it together in ten minutes when I got home.

That video explains how to make it, but feel free to ask questions below if you want to make one yourself! (I did level up from 3/4" to 1" pipes, for stability.)

OH, and if you're a patron (you are!) and you're going to stop by my booth at SPX (are you?), be sure to tell me so! I'll find some way to give you a discount or something free. :) I won't have much with me - just the GWS compendiums, figure drawing books, and some tiny paper to draw original art, but I'm sure we can find SOMETHING you'll like. <3

Elephant Town will most likely have to be colored when I get home Monday, but it'll be up that day!

PS, did I mention I'll be sitting in a clump with BOO! It's Sex co-creator Monica Gallagher, old webcomic crony Jamie Noguchi, and my live model for the figure drawing workshop, Babs New? I WILL and I'm excited about it!! Also aforementioned (low-key favorite artist) Dustin Harbin will be there too!!

You'd better post pics of your banner, or it didn't happen. But you'll make it happen no matter how much kitty mayhem it causes. Hey there, McPedros! "Boo! It's Sex" was a fucking amazing strip and I loved it to bits.

Gah, SPX sounds so fun! Alas, I have been roped into a family event this weekend and will be travelling for that. I really want to attend more small press comics conventions and zine fests! Do you have any that you'd recommend? I've been to MICE once, and Topatocon once (RIP). Both were super fun! I want to see what I can attend in 2023 and start budgeting now :)

Ahh I'm so glad you liked Boo!!

Ooh I hope you make it out to SXP one day! I actually don't know a lot of zine fests yet. I've never been to MICE (though I'd like to one day). TCAF feels zine-y, except with a lot of big names from France and other countries. I don't know when it'll return, but Staple down in Austin is fantastic, too! Hope you have a good time with your fam this weekend, rope or not!
