Reading silently in the same room on a Saturday night is a love language.

Homage to Katie and all my faraway homies. <3

Idk who told me about glass slowly moving over decades and BECOMING wavy, but it's an urban myth!! And so:

Okay if you DON'T know how old glass was made you MUST check out this video, it's amazing!! And it's under 4 minutes.

I figured Babymake would be downstream from Intercourse, but alas, no.

No Sandwichmake, either.

Peak Danielle.

“Reading silently in the same room on a Saturday night is a love language.” – it so is! 📚💕

The very last panel killed me

Yeah, like technically glass does flow, but the time scale is tens of thousands of years or even more, not mere hundreds. I don't think there exists man-made clear glass old enough to have flowed noticeably, unless it was in a fire. Nice flat modern glass involves relatively new techniques, and IIRC one of the first effective ways used a vat of mercury, so I kinda hope we don't do it that way at all anymore?

Thanks for that video, that was really neat!

Ooohh that's cool to know, thank you for the window knowledge!

NJGR

Ooooh, they should get together with folks from Fertile and Climax in Minnesota! -j

And now I have gone down the same window making rabbit hole. Thank you for this new special interest!! *HUG* I am loving your daily comics. I look forward to them all week! :D

Two showers in one day is a little too OCD for me! ;)

Monica Gallagher

DANIELLE I also refuse to shower until after a workout!! LOL

dcorsetto

IT'S A WASTE OF WATER! *penny-pinching Mom voice*

That "thicker at the bottom" thing this new interpretation likely comes from is a product of how the glass was made and glaziers putting the thicker end towards the bottom. One show talking about this pointed out that in the same place you found thicker glass at the bottom in one window you could find thicker glass at the top in another window.

And it feels like a waste of clean underwear! What am I, made of fruit of the loom?!

Minzoku Bokumetsu

idk how people shower in the morning, I can't GO TO BED with the day's funk on me, and who showers multiple times a day?? (unless they've LITERALLY fallen into a pool of mud or something)

Also, people smell of people, and (eructations aside) I like that; working out or dancing just intensifies a good experience 🙂

Re: Showering before a workout. I’m the same way about tai chi, but not nearly as confident as you! (And I sweat like a horse!)

Boss Monster is a great game!

dcorsetto

I'm less wet-sweat and more stink-sweat, but running into a store with layers of winter gear on masks it! What I'm saying is, I'm not confident, just gross. ;)

dcorsetto

We love it in this house!! That game ended with all three of us ALMOST winning, it was a great one!

WELL I know what I'm listening to while coloring ET this weekend.

I almost wish I'd never learned the truth about 18th century window glass. Tthe misconception is a way cooler explanation. And every since that day, I've had to bite my lip every time I've heard someone repeat it, because I don't want to be one of those "Well, ACT-ually..." people.
