Hunter kinda sucks but he's got really nice guitars.

I disagree, Tim. Hunter did a shitty thing to a friend, and he should face social consequences for that in their friend circle. But deportation would be a totally disproportionate response. It's messed up that this threat is hanging over Berto's head, but that doesn't mean said threat should be transferred to someone else.

Said threat is not being transferred but returned to the guilty party who did a terrible thing by setting up his supposed friend and then denying it.

It feels more like class shock maybe? I think she knows how police proceedings and law "should" work and not how they actually work? There's a certain detachment from her of how severe consequences can be for Berto, even without a prior possession charge.
