(Forgive the wonky panel orders on this one and the next one, they're a little hard to follow in some places!)

Check out these crazy babies!

Bonus Ollie sketch! He loves oat milk and he's a total weasel about sneaking a lick.

If anyone would like to be my cool neighbor and has like a million dollars, hit me up.

An indoor yard is my childhood dream and I'm kind of ashamed I haven't made it happen yet.

I didn't take enough photos of Andrew's drawings on the wall, but they are *special.*

Here's a small one, and the cake I made as an homage to it.

Sometimes I'm worth being friends with.

I'm sure I don't need to explain recent Scott Adams happenings, because there's hardly a news outlet that hasn't covered it. But needless to say, this has been his deal for a long time.

I feel kind of gross about this one. The story is true, but I feel like I wrote it defensively, with the intention of him reading it and maybe considering a more enticing reason to diversify your characters, without thinking about the more important reasons.

Also the gag is kinda petty (his art is just fine for his writing; this was a low-hanging jab, imo).

ANYWAY, on to less depressing and more terrifying news!

I just realized that this could be mistaken for Pip screaming (as he often does), but no, it was some dude outside on my street. I have no idea what happened but I guess no one died because there was no news of it the next day.

Probably another breakup - they happen a LOT on my street?! - but damn, it must've been a BAD one.

My home, The House of Many Odors.

I'll wrap this up with some feel-good photos. Fennel finally stayed still for a photo:

And here's Ollie at his finest:

Pip could not be reached for cute photos (he's still watching Fox News).

I'll attempt to be less wordy on the next week's dailies!

What a wonderful collection of dailies!

Boum

I love these, as always! But I'm sorry--- what did Fennel do to the incense for it to stink?

Boum

HAIR! IT HAS CAT HAIR ON IT. GOTCHA

dcorsetto

OH! Fair, that wasn't totally obvious! See, this is why y'all are my test kitchen. ;)

dcorsetto

Haha, also, you're the only cat-owner I know who doesn't have this problem!

Boum

I thought it was sparkling at first so I was confused! But I guess having a cat who doesn’t shed definitely pointed me in the wrong direction 🙃

Jason

Love these (mis)adventures of life with cats! I'm a bit confused where the incense stick landed and why the skull & crossbones 🤔

dcorsetto

Boum (above comment) was confused, too! It stayed where it was, but she rubbed her fur all over the lit end of it.

I think the simpler explanation for the Scott Adams thing is "write what you know." Our art is a reflection of our lives, and he certainly lives in a racial bubble of his own making.

And, in your defense, I enjoyed his strip in the 90's too, but haven't read them much since I graduated from college. At that time it was taking a swipe at large corporate culture like Office Space was, which I appreciated, but I also know that his laziness extended beyond his art because so much of his material was culled from his readers. Maybe this is what happens when you're more of a messenger than a creator.

dcorsetto

Ooohhh good bloomin' vibes to your plant! They're such weirdo blooms!

NJGR

I love that Fennel's "accident" resulted in surprise blooms. I kind of needed to see a hood result from a not-so-great action today. 💙 -jess

Also, those sprouts are blooming awesome! I just want to rub the newer leaves, because baby leaves always feel so interesting!

allanfranta

you be as wordy as you like, please. Much enjoyed!

Minzoku Bokumetsu

I read your (Danielle's) comic as "I appreciated it for what it was when it was fresh, but... srsly, how is it hard getting new perspectives vs. being lazy" Lot of folks I used to like but have dropped for similar reasons, unfortunately =/

Minzoku Bokumetsu

tempted to say ahahahahaha we would JOIN your late-night parties =D alas, no million dollars... =(

Ruth Merriam

Do you know about an app called PlantNet? It is *amazing* and you'll love it. I apologize in advance for what will become a massive time sink. Pls tell me how you get a xmas cactus to bloom twice. I have never ever in my entire life gotten one to bloom again after it was given to me in a blooming phase. I've managed to get snake plants to blossom every few months, and wax plants to send out the most glorious blooms known to humankind, but I am death on 2 legs to xmas cacti. Your cats make my life better. I'm glad they keep you on your toes. Scott Adams just keeps regurgitating the same old thing. Comfort zones really are a thing.

Minzoku Bokumetsu

also meant to mention but forgot our neighbour likes to SCREAM things at literally all hours of the day: morning, noon, evening, once at 2 in the morning I suspect it's a kind of Tourette's, because it NEVER makes any sense (once, something about Harry Truman and "Section 3, Lane 2"???) but luckily it's sporadic at best I get your instinct, though, if it's not a regular occurrence for you

Ash

Yea, I don’t really get what Adams is doing with himself. “Lazy” is almost redundant when speaking of syndicated newspaper comics…Take a look at the average *Garfield* with half the panels blatantly copypasted (and as far as race goes what happened to poor Lyman?) But that’s no excuse for being blatantly racist, and “defending” it with more lazy.

dcorsetto

Oh WOW, no kidding (re the Christmas cactus one-time bloom)?! I'm sorry, I have no idea what the trick is. I do try to keep them better-shaded and better-watered than my initial instinct was (they're not really cactus-y; in the wild, they flourish in the shady crevices of tree trunks!). And of course, soil that drains well. Beyond that, I'm afraid I'm not useful! Cat had me download Planta, and I had another plant-identifying app from before, but I've barely used either. Is PlantNet any different than the others? I had to look up "wax plant," and WOW, those blooms!! Glad you get get some of THOSE in your life!

dcorsetto

What's funny is I never even LIKED Dilbert, it was just something to read! But he was the only cartoonist I ever saw who put his email address in the gutters of his comics, and we were the first people I knew with the internet, so the ability to immediately connect with someone who had my dream job was too tempting!

Zombicatures by Stan Yan

That's how he got so much of his material. People would email him their own stories from work and hope he'd write about them.

Cat

PlantNet is what I used for the winter spindle/Fortune's creep (just out here renaming plants like a renegade)... Not sure I know Planta? But I was weeding on Saturday and realized that I will now probably always think of you wherever I come across Spindlecreep in my flowerbeds, you delightful sleeping beauty you.

Ash

Oh man. Well, in my defense, I did somehow remember he existed. I must have gotten him conflated with Joe, Rob's black friend from *Get Fuzzy*,...*Get Fuzzy* being a kind of intentional parody of Garfield with the same character beats.

dcorsetto

Oohhh! Haha clearly I turned your "PlantNet" recommendation to "Planta" in my brain when I went searching for it later! Cool, now I know which app to download! And, awww. <3 <3 <3
