Miranda's next chapter will start next Monday! I'm headed to San Francisco for a week, and I figured if we have to skip a week, I'd rather we skip this week in between chapters.

As a thank-you for waiting a week, here's an embarrassing daily comic about why I accomplished almost nothing yesterday.

My friend baked these cookies and made them gluten-free and low dose so that I could try them, but they've been sitting in the freezer for months because THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO ME.

And then I had a cookie craving and my desire for cookies surpassed my desire to function the next day.

Also oh my god if I sent you a message on Friday night/Saturday morning please forgive me, Sober Danielle did NOT have the keys to that car!

Never give me edibles, my body's too weird.

See ya next week!

Love, Danielle the Weed Weenie.

Wait. So the text I received at 3AM Saturday (how did you get my number?) saying that the Live Action McPedro movie was a "go" isn't true?! But I was SO PUMPED UP about that! OH NOES!!!!1111 :D

LMAOOOO

On a related note, I learned this week that Louisa May Alcott wrote a short story about a group of friends that eats a bunch of weed bonbons and then two of them go sailing and wind up engaged. It's great, it's available on Gutenberg press, I can't remember the name offhand.

This is one of the top reasons why I'm in no rush at all to try weed.

Always stock alternate cookie choices. You never know when the urge will come upon you...

Joanna

My only experience with weed was a cookie. I spent several hours sitting on the sofa trying to analyze my own thought processes, and then ate a whole bunch of chips I didn't really want. Not for me, I think. ;)

Dean Reilly

Maybe clear a week and eat them all at once, in the spirit of scientific enquiry. 😄

I was high for 36 hours once from a strong edible. Thankfully I didn't have anything I had to do so I was able to sleep and zone out the entire time. That's a challenge with cookie edibles, you just want a cookie and reading part is unsatisfying but the whole cookie will get you too high

Hubs has some gummies that we'd hoped would help with his back pain. I had one for my own spine issues. Nothing. Had another. Three hours later, it was like I was in my 20s again and having the worst acid trip ever. I'm speaking from experience on that front. Obv not a good edible strain for this old gal.

dcorsetto

Hahaha YES, I almost always end up eating a whole bag of something that would have been great with, say, dip, or soup, but nope, I just idiotically ate the whole bag with nothing.

dcorsetto

THIRTY SIX!! uggg that sounds EXHAUSTING!!

Meisterj

That should have said 26, but yes, it was a long freaking time. I really did just sleep sand I had nowhere to be so it wasn't bad. That said, in not trying to live like that either

Leak

Don't do drugs, kids - the related crime spree (see:"raiding the fridge") comes with harsh punishments (i.e. "sleep")... :P

dcorsetto

Oh DEFINITELY. And because it's so rare that I partake, I never get any savvier about it!

dcorsetto

Oohh the sativa translation is a fun tidbit! And yeah, I'm trying to drink a LOT less, but I love the transition that happens in my brain when there's alcohol in there. I was hoping to just gracefully shift over to this, but like you said further down, I'm not sure I have the patience to find out what works for me!

Ruth Merriam

I certainly learned that the strain I had doesn't play well with my brain. It's a shame, really. I've got some health issues I'd like to see about soothing with some method of weed intake. And maybe some year, mushroom microdosing will bet the research it deserves.

dcorsetto

Thanks for offering! I'm good for now - we have a great CBD place right in town run by absolute weed nerds that are itching to talk about this stuff with patrons, so I've got some in-person help, too. :)

Erik Greenfrost

Welcome to SF! Hope your flight wasn't on Tuesday when SFO had to shut down for awhile because of the wind. With some warning next time would love to throw you a good Bay Area welcome. :)

dcorsetto

ERIK!! Are you the same Erik who stopped me on the street?? If so, you made my day!! If not, there's another Erik in your town who knows my work and they seem really cool. ;)

Erik Greenfrost

Yeah, that was me! I love that you share so many images of yourself in things like these dailies - your self-portraits made you VERY recognizable walking past me! :-D I was going to lunch with a work colleague and was worried I was being a weird fan but went with my gut and said hello - glad that it made your day. :)

dcorsetto

Guts are generally right. ;) Thanks for following yours! (Haha, yeah I get that a lot - that my autobio comics are pretty spot-on! IT'S THE EARS)
