Happy Fridailies Day! (Patreon)

Sneezing! It's some serious shit!!
I'm "not-participating" in Lucy Bellwood's What She Knows project. I'm reading her thoughtful prompts and letting them roll around in my head, I'm just not creating anything to go with them. Unless you count this comic:
My Instagram feed is flooded with this trend, and they're mostly ads (?!): a regular person acts out their inner feelings, and the camera switches to the same regular person, but dressed differently, calmly giving sage advice to other-same-regular-person.
I should let go of my irritation over it, it's not a big deal and I think I'm just embarrassed that I had a similar idea, where I create an autobio graphic novel in which regular-ass me is being lectured by regular-ass-but-smarter-me. The embarrassment comes from how self-aggrandizing it feels to pretend there's someone with sage advice in there. (But let's be real, I've already done this before with Hazel, which may as well be autobio.)
I don't even know which prompt Lucy gave that made me think about this, but, there it is, now purged for the public!
Whatever this is, it's been affecting Ollie, too. He's been bouncing off the walls. I'm vibrating for change, myself.
I made a little cutout the other day for a fellow artist I admire (I'll show you once I'm certain she got it!) and it's making me wanna do little watercolor cutouts of EVERYTHING.
Will I make a cutout town to promote Elephant Town in time for SPX? I doubt it! But I'll try!!
If you're on the east coast and don't already know what SPX (Small Press Expo) is, it's a FANTASTIC comic arts festival in Bethesda, Maryland, just outside of DC! Tickets are cheap and you can buy them day-of, in case you wanna swing in next weekend (Sept 9th and 10th) and see yours truly and a bunch of really great small-press cartoonists! I'll be selling GWS books and I might sell these daily comics originals, too - I don't have much else to sell so I figure I might as well bring them. :)
This is as impulsive as I get, WATCH OUT WORLD.
I gave my iron to Luke (who actually presses his clothes), but I've needed a small one recently for sewing projects, so:
I also bought this orphaned cup because it was SQUARE and I couldn't get over how cute it was:
I spent $7 total. Rein me in, I'm wild with small change.
Remember those green beans that didn't grow, so I tossed them into a flower bed and wished them good luck? WELL
That's them at the bottom right! The little bits of red are the habanero I grew that made my face and nose tingle for the rest of the night. (The pears I paired with the pork at the top were from my yard, too, and the nasturtium bloom - which are edible and taste a little peppery - on the left.)
I mean they'd look GREAT in the basement too, but
I hope my friends and I look this happy when we're pushing 90.
Luke's coworker was getting rid of them (two!?!) and he knew I'd go bananas over 'em. He's a good gift-giver.
All I need to fuck off a little is the tiniest encouragement.
I only sent off this design to the printers, because I wanted to see how they print before I do more. Fingers crossed I'll have them in time for SPX!
You'll see why the next Elephant Town pages are taking so long when I finally post them, which I'm hoping will be the Monday after SPX. Two of you already know why (shoutout to Luke and Tim)!
