We're leaving town tomorrow for Thanksgiving, so I figured I'd post these early. Because I'm grateful for all y'all. <3

Everything is a different shade of tan. I've been slowly refilling the jars with fresh spices, because the jars themselves are just too cute.

We spent the weekend visiting my folks in Oakland, MD to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday early, and even though it's only a couple hours away, it's always SO much colder up there! But we Corsettos can't resist a nice long walk.

He says he's doing it for his knees, but I like to think he's doing it to entertain us.

The most color I have ever seen on Luke!

I hope I'm not alone on this. Wait, no I hope I AM alone on this. I hope none of you suffer from this disfunction! It's DUMB.

I won't be getting Dad's whole gift done by his birthday, but I'll have it done in time for Christmas! And he's not the kind of person who would mind getting it late. Here's what I have so far...

He really leaned hard into the Volvos there for awhile.

Yesterday was overcast, so...

I took some liberties here - my studio windowsills are too frequented by cats to put plants in them - but there are cuttings all over the rest of the house. I got really into purple plants this year!

Purple Heart:

Wandering Jewel:

Sweet Potato Vine:

The sweet potato vine and purple heart keep flowering and flowering and it's the tiniest little highlight of my day every time I see a new one pop up.

Hope your week's plans aren't stressful at all, and that you stuff yourselves with just enough food that you feel like a puppy after a nice long nap, but not so much that you feel like a large rock stuck in a recliner. Unless that's what you're going for.

Thanks for being here and for sharing my mundane little days with me. <3

Perhaps he's walking backwards for Christmas, across the Irish Sea?

Oh, Purple Heart! I never knew what they were called, the lady next door (20 years ago) grew them and they spread to my yard! Little purple flowers? Ah. The wandering jewel infests this place, but it's good ground cover and easy to pull up.

I guess that if the surprise provided by the gift itself isn't enough to wow them - the added fact that you managed to get it done on time at the very last second might add to that... :)

Thanks for the early comics. The cars are looking great. You now have 8 cars you can throw into any comic, at these very specific angles, lol. I'm sure they'll look great all together, I hope they get framed. Imagine seeing them all with a perfect accent color for the matte and frame

I love all the purple plants...and the socks! Those are some A+ sassy socks.

I love sharing your mundane little days! I plan to graze all day on our lovely array of sweets so I'm an absolute [insert possum that OD'd on pastry gif here]. and then I'll have gnocchi. XD

Dirk Bergstrom

Those car paintings are looking magnificent

Susy

I love that test tube set-up you have for your cuttings!

Sabrina

those cars are incredible!!! i literally gasped out loud, they look so good :)

Paul Bonser

One of our cats decided that he likes plant cuttings, so I've been finding them on the floor (my wild peppers! they are just starting to root!). Also a baby radish from the counter with no leaves left on it by the time I caught them with it.

Ken Carlile

Wow! Those car paintings!

🎶 Let’s pretend we don’t exist, let’s pretend it’s daily comics day! 🎶 - Of Montreal, probably

THIS, from me too! So gorgeous and detailed!

dcorsetto

Haha suddenly, we discover that Berto has an old Ford Capri... ! You know, I bought some really simple pre-cut-mat frames for these, but I hadn't considered that I COULD have them professionally framed, since I'm waiting til Christmas... hmmmm...

dcorsetto

It makes me so happy every morning!

Scott Schaper

For someone who "isn't very good at drawing cars" you're incredibly good at painting them. And it's always so fun the way your voice and artistic style really shine through these daily comics posts.

Chris Driggers

Your car paintings are great! So great that I’d commission you to paint my first car, a 1968 Plymouth Fury III sedan that was the centerpiece of my high school life. That car was already an antique when I bought it from my best friend for $400 in 1997. IF you ever elect to draw or paint another car, let me know :)

Minzoku Bokumetsu

hahaha I bet I'll inherit the spice rack my folks have, ALSO with its original spices D=

Tim Pendergast

Brown and Harvest Gold is completely the 70s!

David Neale-Lorello

Is that a Capri (car) in the lower left? Love those! Had a friend in college who had one; always wanted to get one of my own. Super fun little cars!

kaitou

I always claimed that the question "What was I thinking?" more often was really two questions: "What? Was I thinking?". (Likewise for, "What were they thinking?".)

Those spice racks are the authentic Old Spice...

Theadora

awww! So sorry to hear that! We had a cat who would find a way to ANY indoor plant and chew on it no matter what! She's been gone a year now (and we still miss her), but we're starting to slowly repopulate the house with plants.

dcorsetto

YES! And it's SUCH a handsome car! I waited to draw it after doing the Volvos, as a treat, because I knew I'd enjoy it so much. :)

dcorsetto

Ooooo I just looked up Plymouth Fury III sedan, what a handsome car!! I'd enjoy drawing that one. Maybe in the future. :)

Trebuchet

I have three spice racks like that on the wall in the pantry to display my late mother's collection of "Swanky Swigs", Kraft cheese glasses from the 1920's to 1950's. They are a nice reminder of her.

Paul Bonser

We just pulled the rest of the radishes to let the other plants get some light and he was in a near-panic trying to get to them up on the counter. I'm starting some cat grass for them, but it hasn't come up yet :D
