Silcock

Hello Flo, thank you for the tutorial. Just to let you know the color palette doesn’t work (link)

Silcock

I’ll use the numbers instead

Art with Flo

I have replaced it, it might be working now

Joanna M. Rives

Really neat tutorial! I built some new skills today.

Art with Flo

That's great Joanna! I'm happy you like it :D

TIL I also need my DPI to be the same as Flo's (not just the number of pixels) to get the same results 😅

Art with Flo

dpi is only relevant when you use a physical size, it won't change the amount of pixels when you make a canvas with a certain amount of pixels in width and height. When you make a canvas set to inches for instance and set it to 300 dpi, it'll calculate the amount of pixels that are needed.

While dpi doesn’t impact the number of pixels, procreate does seem to use it do decide how many pixels go into text at a particular font size. I found that with mismatched dpi the text was coming out a vastly different size on my artwork for the same font & font size. I went back a few times to double check my font size matched yours in the video. Once I created a new image with a matching dpi my procreate produced text that matched yours with the same settings

Art with Flo

Yes, you are right. Font sizes are measured in points in stead of pixels. And a point (pt) is a physical size. Since a 2300 x 3000 at 300 dpi would have a different physical size than a 2300 x 3000 at 150 dp, the font size will be different as well.
