In this easy beginner tutorial, I like to take you through my process of picking a color palette. I've attached the colors I have picked during this tutorial, but I'd recommend picking your own colors and playing around with color harmonies.

We'll be creating this stylized Easter Bunny Illustration. You can check loads of inspiration on Pinterest for instance to get more ideas for flowers. I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!

If you want to use the same font as I used during this tutorial, then you can find it HERE.

Make sure you use a browser (like Chrome or Safari) to download the attachments, the Patreon app doesn't let you download attachments unfortunately.

thank you very much Flo for all your tutorials. But a tutorial on how to choose colors from a reference would be great thanks ☺️

I’m so glad I found you on YouTube and joined you here! I’d love to see a tutorial on skin, mainly how to blend shadow and light to look natural. But I’m happy with any tutorial you do!

I don't have a specific tutorial about that, but usually I talk about it when painting from a reference in a tutorial. I always try to pick a color that is relatively close, but never worry about picking the exact color. I always tweak the colors as I go, because it's easier to judge if a color needs to be warmer or cooler for instance, than picking the right color straight away.

I definitely want to do a class about skin in the future, perhaps as part of the Flo's Fundamentals series.

where do I get the brushes used in this video

Hi Flo! So happy I joined you on Patreon!! I've enjoyed your YCDT tutorials so much and have learned so much every time! I loved this Easter tutorial as I learned all about making my own color palettes. So Fun!!! Looking forward to learning and growing in my Procreate journey. Thanks again for all you do!!

That's so lovely to hear, Susie :D I'm happy to have you here and I'm looking forward to seeing your results throughout your Procreate journey

Just finished my bunny and I really think it turned out very cute! I didn’t follow your color pallet suggestion but found the information on “how” useful anyway. Had no clue before this video that those choices ( complementary, etc.) were even available. Also, I had no idea that the Aa on the right brings up font selections and options!!! Who knew? What a huge help that little tip will be going forward! As always, thank you 😊.

Flo, can you please explain why sometimes you drop the background color on Layer 1 vs. Background Layer?? Thanks, love the Easter tutorial!

Art with Flo

I'm so happy to hear you learned something new :D

Art with Flo

Often it doesn't have a particular reason ;) I'm just still very used to adding a background color to layer 1, since I used to work in Photoshop (for over 12 years) and it doesn't have the option to click 'background layer' to pick a background color.

Mary Miller

Yes, I use PSE and put background on layer 1 as it is easier to change or delete. I think I’ll continue this habit.

Great, thank you for your inspiring videos! I can learn so much and it motivates me to try with own drawings.

I’ve been following your tutorials on YouTube but have only just signed up to your patreon and sooo happy I did! :)

By clicking 'Import Font' in the menu where you pick fonts :)

Thanks so much and could you maybe think about doing a toothless the dragon you can draw this tutorial?
