Content

I hope you all had a wonderful month! Thank you all so much for your (continued) support! ❤️ I had a great month, even though I wasn't able to take a break. I was very excited to be able to launch the very first You Can Draw This XXL! I will be creating a new one every month.

I was also featured in a podcast this month! You can listen to it through Apple Podcast or Spotify. In the podcast I talk about the closet under the stairs that I plan to use as a studio. The plans have actually changed and I plan to rent a small office space starting November. I can't wait to start working there. It's a 15 minute walk away from my home, so it's perfect.

We have also hired someone to help us with the rebranding of Art with Flo, a pretty big step! Changes should probably become visible starting January 2022.

I have also continued my work on the Art with Flo website, there are now multiple overview pages for easy tutorial picking. Of course I'll continue trying to improve the entire experience 😊

But for now, let's look back on the tutorials of this month (click the titles to go to the tutorial directly)! I shared a new Sketching Class and a fun beginner tutorial in which we created a cute frog, but of course I also shared the second Pick a Ref tutorial and an assignment feedback video.

If you are searching for something or if anything is unclear, please go to the download post for Eager Learners + Master Students or the download post for Superfans to get brushes and info about how Patreon works.

Tutorials

Flo's Fundamentals - Trees

In this brand new Flo's Fundamentals class, we talked about painting trees and I showed you ways to approach painting them.

Pick a Ref - Neon Street

Boy! Was this a challenge! This month you all picked this neon street reference image and in this month's video you see me struggling to recreate it.

Assignment Feedback

I have shared the second assignment feedback video. Thank you to all of you who have sent in their artwork, great work!

Cute Frog Illustration

In this beginner level tutorial we created this cute little frog in a children's book illustration type of style.

You Can Draw This XXL

Those of you who joined as an Eager Learner or Master Student before the end of August 2021, have received the YCDT XXL pack. It's just like You Can Draw This, but bigger!

Learn to Sketch - Animals

In the new episode of Learn to Sketch, I covered the subject of sketching animals and showed you ways to approach it. During the demonstration I showed how you can sketch from the outside to the inside and from the inside to the outside.

What's coming in September?

First of all you can expect the tutorial made from the reference image you voted for and the feedback video for your assignment of course! A Flo's Fundamentals about painting feathers and scales should also be coming up. I'll also be working on a brand new You Can Draw This XXL! It'll be given to all Eager Learners and Master Students who join before the end of September 2021. We will be creating a lovely girl this time.

I'll be visiting Paris for two days this month, I'm pretty excited about it. Perhaps I'll find some nice inspiration there.

Don't forget that you can always check the OVERVIEW page for an overview of all of the tutorial content.
