Welp. I've finally closed the final chapter of Andor Season 2 and I'm left full, changed, and emotionally scattered in the best ways. This show reawakened my love for the Star Wars galaxy in deeper, stronger ways that I didn't know were possible. It made the rebellion feel so human, personal, and urgent. It made me actually fear the Empire and tremble when they walked into the room. And not to get all sentimental on you guys, but it honestly reminded me why I began this space in the first place. To feel, to journey, to belong. Episode 10 was devastatingly beautiful. It felt like an elegy. Not just for one man even, but for the idea of what rebellion costs. Luthen's story has always felt like standing in the middle of a fire. And this episode... It finally let us see the ashes it leaves behind. The flashbacks between him and Kleya hit me in all the feels. The tenderness beneath their steel, the trust that was carved through years of secrecy and different roles and sacrifice. It felt like watching two ghosts remember the people they used to be just before the cause completely consumed them.I mourned for Luthen. But I also loved that this episode truly honored him in every way. It didn't sensationalize his end or his choices. It respected the quite weight of his sacrifices. We saw how much the Rebellion bears his fingerprints. The strategies, the connections, the impossible choices made so others could one day rise freely. Luthen gave everything to light a fire he'd never get to stand in. And that's the kind of heroism that made this show burn so brightly.By the time Episode 12 came, I was ready. Ready to witness the culmination of everything we've carried since the beginning. All of the sacrifices (Luthen's, Maarva's, Mon Mothma's, Cassian's) convergin into one unmistakable truth: Rebellion is not built on glory. It's built on pain, insanity, love, and the stubborn belief that tomorrow can be different. Watching Cassian take his next steps towards the man he becomes in Rogue One floored me. It felt less like an ending and more like a prophecy being fulfilled. The destiny is finally turning. I'm really going to miss this show. The ritual of pressing play every week, the discussions, these write-ups, the collective hype for this show has been so incredible. I feel like in a lot of ways, it has even inspired me to write more outside of just these blurps from films or tv I give you all each reaction. I found myself so inspired by the art, the music, and the vibe that Andor gives off. And I just loved how much it showed how ordinary people (weary, flawed, afraid) can still change the course of history just by choice. A choice to never give up. A choice to go down swinging. To everyone who joined me through this journey, THANK YOU. Experiencing Andor with you all made it feel even more sacred. And now, even though I have seen Rogue One, I can't wait to rewatch it with new eyes. After Andor, it's not just an epic movie. It's the echo of everything that came before it. Here's to Luthen's fire, Cassian's courage, and the stories that remind us why we fight 🥃🔥Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿LINK: https://youtu.be/LIXOx-sqMgkI watched this on Disney Plus

I missed The Conjuring comments so I'm putting this here: you won't believe this, but my favorite band put out an album this year with weird nighttime phenomena as the theme, including a song about the EXACT figure you describe from your overnight ER story. Here are the lyrics: https://lyricsus.net/lyrics/dream-theater-the-shadow-man-incident. The verse starting with "Standing at seven feet tall . . . " seems to describe your experience EXACTLY. Pretty wild huh? You're not crazy Kali! Here is the album cover with the shadowy hatted figure in the corner: https://dreamtheater.net/merch/parasomnia-deluxe-artbook/ Too bad they didn't paint a short brunette instead, then it really would have hit home 😂 (Dang why don't these hyperlinks work?)

Beautifully said. I cannot wait to re-watch this tonight, but with your thoughts and commentary.

Excited to watch this tonight even though I want to stop and watch it immediately. Your thumbnail is exactly as I expected it would be! Kinda sad to watch this as I know it will bring this amazing journey to an end. Looking forward to our next adventure though...whatever that may be. :)

For me, episode 10 cements it - Luthen and Kleya are two of the greatest characters in cinema history, written and acted to perfection. That slow fadeout at the end, Luthen's legacy cemented, as he himself predicted; he would die in obscurity, fighting the empire, only a few in the galaxy ever knowing how much he sacrificed. I was surprised that you took him killing Lonni in such stride! I've watched a number of reactions to Andor, and almost everyone gets really pissed off that he killed Lonni, but you seemed to intuitively understand - Luthen never demanded a sacrifice from Lonni that he wasn't also willing to do himself. You can argue whether it was right or wrong, but you have to give him that much. There's an amazing detail in episode 10 that almost nobody catches on first viewing (I sure didn't) - in the Luthen flashbacks, you can hear them referring to him as "Sergeant Lear." Luthen Rael was the full name he chose when he became a Rebel. LEAR RAEL To me, this signifies how he inverted his entire life - he went from a sergeant in a squad of soldiers who commit atrocities, to one of the earliest Rebels, fighting against soldiers who commit atrocities.

What can hit the way Andor hit? Uh... like, The Wire? Not much--that's why it's a pantheon series, period, not just Star Wars project. Hope you enjoy Rogue one on rewatch--I may be in the minority, but I kinda didn't. I just wanted to throw things at Jyn Erso whenever she appeared on screen. I wanted Bix. And Wil. And Kleya. Quick syllabus on Tony Gilroy, the creator and showrunner. He was already a legendary screenwriter before this. His best project beforehand, I think unequivocally, was Michael Clayton (2007)--legal thriller starring George Clooney, and I think a top 10 film of the millennium. His most successful project was he wrote the Bourne movies, which are also fantastic. And he can do other speeds too--come February, you can even usher in the Winter Olympics with his first screenplay, The Cutting Edge, the classic figure skating romcom. Can't go wrong with his work.

What an amazing finale. Ugh so sad for Lonnie to go out like that. He was the GOAT. We get a great Luthen/Kleya episode that really shows their dedication and sacrifice for the rebellion. And after Luthen dies we see Kleya like break down for the first time. And then all of this leading up to the beautifully scored montage of Cassian in his Rogue One outfit walking to his ship and seeing where everyone else is at. And then the final scene of Bix at the end hits me so hard every time. Such an incredible series. Idk if anything else I ever watch will affect me like how this show has. Now time to watch Andor S3 (aka Rogue One) It's been so great rewatching this with you and I've loved reading your write-ups. Can't wait to see what you watch next!

Ahhh that's really creepy!! It looks like that figure is linked to sleep paralysis episodes which makes SO much more sense. I never dove too much deeper into the tall hatted figure because I was way too creeped out. But I do suffer from sleep paralysis episodes IF I sleep on my back 😅 It's kind of crazy that my co-worker also had the same experience though. So maybe not always linked to that? But very interesting! Thanks for sharing!!

kaliwali

I hope you enjoy! An epic finale! But I expected nothing less 🧡

kaliwali

Thank you for joining me on this epic journey!! I'm so sad it's over, too.. but this finale was so good 🧡 I hope you enjoy when you can!

kaliwali

Episode 10 definitely solidified the epicness of Luthen and Kleya.. That slow fadeout was such a beautiful way to honor his character and also marvel at his entire existence at the same time. Never have I seen a game or show or movie honor a death like that. It was so brilliant and beautiful! And as for Lonni. I was very sad for him, yes.. But you're right that Luthen never asks for a sacrifice he wouldn't make himself. It's very morally complicated but everything about Luthen always has been. In a way Lonni already sealed his fate the day he decided to work for Luthen. He already chose a life outside of his family and his life was no longer really his. That's Luthen's way of thinking and that day on the elevator he made that crystal clear. Also the Sergeant Lear detail omg 👀 I did NOT catch onto that so thank you for sharing! That's some cinematic poetry right there. And it's definitely details like that that make Andor such a masterpiece. Thank you for joining me in this one! I will miss it so much... 🥲

kaliwali

Andor is definitely on a whole other level! Comparing it to anything else is a stretch (although I've never seen The Wire lol). I can see how Jyn Erso would be shmeh after this epic story and it's epic characters lol. There are so many characters I want more of too.. Thanks for the Tony Gilroy syllabus! I haven't seen any of the movies you've mentioned from him but I'll add them to my list :) Thank you for watching this one with me! I will definitely miss it 🥲

kaliwali

This finale absolutely wrecked me but I honestly expected it to 😅🥲 That Luthen/Kleya episode opener for this three episode arc definitely set the tone for the entire finale.. Never have I seen a game, movie or tv show honor a death in such a deeply moving way. And that montage with Cassian in his Rogue One outfit.. YES! All I could do was smile and try to suck back the happy/sad/excited tears. This show really was something else. So rare to find a series that really sticks to you like this one did. Every character, every line, every episode. Shew. Thank you for rewatching this one with me!! It was such an epic ride and I'm definitely going to miss it! 🥲🧡

AJ

incredible show , one of the best things Sar Wars has ever done , this show hits so incredibly hard but is also so beautiful at the same time

Dude Longcouch

I just wanted to tell you how much I love your username, I've recommended Avatar to Kali before and I hope she decides to watch it at some point.

All I can say is just, wow. This whole series has been such a journey. Starting out in this season 1, the empire felt so terrifying and powerful, but closing out in these last three episodes, I saw the cracks that would ultimately crumble them beginning to form. That hope began to finally rise. But hope that rose through standing on the shoulders of all the sacrifices that came before it. The true cost. More than anything else, that's what I appreciate the most about this show. It wasn't a glamorous hero story. But a showcase of what ordinary people can do, with heart, belief, and determination So many great arcs in this entire series! And it just felt so rewarding to see how everything finally came together this week. Kleya stepping into such an important role, Luthen, Mon Mothma, Cassian finally understanding his place in this story, and Dedra's satisfying downfall. I feel like this is the type of show that I'd love on a rewatch and pick up on so much more! Also, K-2SO is amazing. That's all :)

Oh yesss ATLA is so good

BigBrain69

Back when they announced this show I was not interested at all in this show. Rogue One was a decent movie, but I thought Andor is not interesting enough to give him his own show. BOY WAS I WRONG. I really hope Disney learns from this show and make more stuff on this level, because not gonna lie, most of the new star wars stuff is kinda subpar compared to this. I still love other star wars stuff but damn this show made everything else look so bland. I personally hope that we can explore different eras in the star wars universe, like the Old Repuplic and the Jedi and Sith before the Rule of two but with this level of writing. I doubt I will get that but I can always hope.

Danny

After watching this show i concluded the correct watch order for star wars is: A New Hope, Empire, Return of the Jedi, Andor, Rogue One. Maybe rewatch the Eps IV-VI after Rogue One, but best to pretend the rest don't exist lol.

eladrin22

K2 said "I hear the revnog talking". I'm hardly an expert, but from context, I believe revnog is some form of alcohol.

David Perkins

good catch sir! also, i'm moderately confident that the name "Lear" isn't just some random decision. there are many parallels between Luthens experiences and those of Shakespears king Lear. given Tony Gilroys remarkable attention to detail i find it hard to attribute that fact to coincidence.

Lastboyscout73

I want to say, thank you Kali for giving me a chance to watch this show again and through your eyes. Knowing how much it affected you and how powerful the writing and the characters are/were made this show truly special. I found it extremely powerful and moving when I watched it when it first came out and to get to watch you feel and experience some of, if not all the emotions I felt the first time I watched it was very special. Now is the time if you can find it to rewatch Rogue One. It hits so different after seeing all this back story and makes it one of my favorite all time Star Wars movies. It ranks right up there with the original trilogy with me personally. I always like to leave you with a "fun fact", Krennic (Ben Mendlesohn), improvised sticking his finger on top of Dedra's head during the interrogation scene. Her look of shock was a legitimate surprise on her face because she wasn't expecting it. It was a brilliant move imo, it really showed that Krennic was not someone to be trifled with. It helped the scene because you could see the anxiety and fear on Dedra's face for maybe one of the first times in the show besides the final episode of season one when she thought she was cornered and about to die when Cyril saved her from the mob on Ferix. I would like to say that the other Star Wars shows are just as good but they pale in comparison to this one but, I still think they are fun and there has only been one show I did not like at all and that was The Alcoyte.

David Perkins

and here we are, at the end of one of, if not the, greatest tv experiences ever. pretty sure you're feeling it, y'know, that emptiness, the punch to the gut. to quote the wisest man never to live, “I will not say: do not weep; for not all tears are an evil.”! i hope i can find something to fill the void a bit faster this time. it was close to 2 decades between lotr and Andor. in the meantime, i shall continue doing the next best thing and watch first time reactions. so happy you'll be rewatching Rogue one. can't wait for that. thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. it's been a privilege to join you. i look forward to more journeys!

Calu

Thanks Kali! You made this an excellent re-watch. Enjoyed it throughout. Somehow your reactions managed to make me more emotional that when I watched the show the first time! LOL I am assuming you will be uploading your re-watch/re-reaction to Rogue One. Looking forward to it!

Dude Longcouch

To clear up the confusion about Partagaz, he definitely took himself out because he was about to blamed for the failure to capture Kleya. You can see the dawning comprehension on his face in the previous scene when they hear the comms go dead as K2 is rescuing them. He knows he's next in the "the ever increasing ISB death march" as Krennic put it, and the best case scenario for him is he ends up on Narkina 5 like Dedra. The worst case scenario is he's slowly tortured and killed. So instead of facing any of that, he takes the easy way out. It ties into what you were saying about how you never imagined the Krennic from Rogue One could be so terrifying. You were spot on, and Andor does such a great job of establishing how the Imperial power structure works; it's basically fear, manipulation, and if necessary, violence, all the way down the line. You can see it from the Emperor at the top all the way down to the lowliest stormtrooper grunts. Anybody above you will terrify the hell out of you and threaten you with physical harm if you fail. Anybody below you, you are responsible for motivating in the exact same way. Palpatine manipulates Vader, who threatens Krennic, who terrifies Dedra and the other Supervisors, who bully the ISB staff, who blah blah blah, and so on. One other thing I thought was neat, when you pointed out the parallels between the Rebel command and the Imperial command, and how they both used similar but tonally different punishments, all I could think of was Luthen's line from season 1 - "I'm condemned to use the tools of my enemy to defeat them."

Marty McGee

The first time I watched the end scene with Cassian walking through the camp I had so many emotions. First of all the musical theme just building throughout the whole sequence was beautiful. Also the stark contrast between Yavin with all its warmth and community and the Empire with its stark coldness, Krennic alone watching the final touches to the Death Star and Dedra alone in prison. Most of all it hit me hard that this moment is the beginning of the mission that leads directly into the start of a universe that I have followed and lived in and loved for over 40 years! Being a kid in the 80s and pretending I was Luke Skywalker. Collecting and playing with the toys and action figures. Building the Lego sets. Seeing the movies in theaters with friends. Reading what are now called the Legends books. I was hit with just how much this franchise has meant to me. It was a feeling that I really can't put into words. But I'm so grateful to have had it. AND THEN, they had to go and throw Bix and the baby in there! That was cruel and unusual punishment Tony Gilroy! I was honestly a wreck for hours after my first watch. But isn't it amazing that we can be moved like that from a tv show? So glad you enjoyed it all!

Mark Walston

Thank you Thank you Thank you for doing this show.

Quantum Unicorn

Andor is such an amazing show, and it's a real treat to watch it with someone who creates such a similar emotional connection with it that I do. If you ever want a new show that has the same level of emotional connection as Andor, I highly recommend Arcane. Each three episode section is a specific arc in both seasons, like Andor. I also highly recommend Chernobyl, one of my favourites. And both Top Guns! Would love to see you watch those sometime :).

David T

I hope you’ll share your re-watch of Rogue One with us! It’s so different knowing what led up to it. I know many of us would love to see a continuation of this story focusing on Kleya, Vel, Wil, and Bix… wouldn’t it be interesting if they realized Dedra is a perfect source of intel on the Empire…and they sprung her from prison? Or maybe they are the ones who arranged for the Bothans to steal info on the second Death Star orbiting Endor.

The Dingo

And now you know that this is why my hot take is that they need to remake ALL of the Star Wars movies and use this as the baseline for theme, tone, and storyline

Robert da Spruce

Finally got a chance to watch this reaction. I’ve been a couple reactions behind, so I’ve been binging your last two reactions (6 episodes) all the way to the finale! I really love this series! And I’m so happy you loved it too Kali! It’s been wonderful taking this journey with you! Whew! I almost forgot how hard the second half of this season hits! Especially as we start to see everyone’s ultimate destinies being revealed as we hurtle headlong towards the beginning of Rogue One Tragic, heroic, inspiring, cautionary. And that last shot with Bix and their baby 😭 Great show!

Ricardo de Leon

One of the best series of all time. Seeing your reaction was the closest to watching it again for the first time. I've had the pleasure of meeting Diego Luna in person, a long time ago, and he was always the perfect actor for this role. After the finale dropped, a lot of people went around watching the talks that Tony Gilroy, his brother, and the other writers from the series shared online. It's a masterclass for any screenwriter. It adds so much more depth and introspection to the whole series. One of the takeaways that I enjoyed was that they did so much worldbuilding, also left many crumbs for future writers and filmmakers to follow. The downside, aside from there being no more Andor, is that a lot of the other existing Star Wars series pale in comparison (I would recommend watching the Clone Wars / Rebels series, as they add a lot to the Ashoka & Mandalorian series, with their own great moments). We have friends everywhere.

Bernie Zwicky

Do you have any plans on watching The Mandalorian series? I mean a series centered around a baby Yoda has to be good!😊 I was also wondering if you would react to “Spaceballs”. Having seen Star Wars, I think you would absolutely love it…one of the funniest movies I’ve seen!!

Trevor Go

When we getting some more Star Wars?
