Where do I begin my usual essay with this one... The payoff of watching every Spider-Man movie leading up to this point was ENORMOUS. Thank you for the warnings to make sure I watch all of them before this one! Tobey's heart, Andrew's pain, Tom's growth. It felt like everything I've loved about Spider-Man over the past few months collided into one wholesome, emotional heart to heart moment. When the portal opened and Andrew took off his mask... I think I went into a state of excited shock 😅🩷What makes Spider-Man special isn't just the superhero aspect. It's the love, the sacrifice, and the endless drive to do what's right even when the world takes everything away from him. Aunt May's death in this one completely broke me. The way Tom looked at her.. This raw, wordless anger and grief. You could literally see the weight of Spider-Man truly settling onto his shoulders. The weight of greatness and responsibility. This movie reminded me why Spider-Man has recently been the hero for me. He's the most human of them all. Constantly falling, constantly getting back up again. Always protecting others even at his own expense and pain. After this entire Spider-Man journey we've been on, nobody can take that personal number one spot from him anytime soon.I absolutely loved this love letter to all of the Spider-Man fans out there. It left us with that same important reminder: no matter how heavy life gets, keep swinging 🕸️🩷Next up we're taking a bit of a detour through some DC films! I'll be uploading a New Superhero Odyssey with my plans soon so keep a lookout for it 🍿 See you all there!Thank you for your support on Patreon!Relax and enjoy 🍿🌿LINK: https://youtu.be/HKKdMSLZc78I rented this from Amazon PrimeTHIS IS THE THEATRICAL VERSION - NOT EXTENDED

I love this movie easily one of the best Spiderman films to date but this movie is also getting alot of overrated comments like the movie only had the nostalgia factor. There’s also a lot of comments that Dr Strange felt different which I didn’t think at first but rewatching it more and more I am seeing it now. Overall this is easily my favorite Spiderman than Raimi Spiderman 2.

TheJoeKerr

Happy Halloween! Thank you for uploading this tonight! Oh and the blind lawyer that caught the brick at the beginning of the movie you would have to watch this show called Daredevil on Disney +

Jojo Garlin

Spider-Man No Way Home has become my favorite spider-man movie and no it’s not because of the fan service. This whole movie has put this trilogy in perspective for me. Unlike Raimi Trilogy and Mark Webb’s movie this whole trilogy in the MCU was Peter truly becoming Spider-Man his Homecoming, Far From Home, and No Way Home it was his Great Power, Comes Great Responsibility Arc Journey Even his villains reflect it, The Vulture, Mysterio, And Green Goblin they all have Green aesthetic. The term “Green” can also be used a term to express someone’s inexperience or naïveté. As I’ve said before, in the comics even after Peter started Fighting Crime officially he didn’t automatically become this paragon of good that everyone knows him as today, he made mistakes, he ran away when things got too hard and he prioritized his own problems over the safety of others at times, he was a boy struggling to learn to be a true hero. And this movie found a new and interesting way to keep that spirit and development and do it in their own way. Taking away Peter’s connection to other heroes, having him choose to sacrifice his happiness for others and learning to keep moving forward and do what’s right it’s the most Spider-Man development and ending that I can think of and cemented this version of Spider-Man as my favorite can’t wait to see where his journey goes from here.

Jojo Garlin

A lot of people bring up how Peter kind of brought this on himself but that’s kinda the point. At the beginning of the Movie Peter wants it all he wants his friends and family to know who he is so he doesn’t have to keep it from them and he wants to have a normal life without the whole world knowing who he is. Peter wasn’t willing to potential lose any of those relationships which is what made him mess up Strange’s spell but after everything that’s happened he’s willing to let everyone he loves forget him. He went from not being willing to let any of his loved ones forget he’s Spider-Man to choosing to let them all forget who he is in general. This movie is about Peter finally understanding the biggest lesson of being Spider-Man: Self Sacrifice

KJ

Watching now. I hope you watch the scene with Peter and his lawyer a few more times. It's an Easter Egg that might click (hopefully other supporters don't explain it unless you want them to).

Happy Halloween 🎃 Kaliwali When Andrew Garfield saved MJ from the fall got me crying 😢, the look on his face, when he couldn’t save Gwen, but I was able to save you.

kaliwali

Thank you! She's doing a bit better today :) Happy Halloween! 🧡

The Moment has finally arrived. This movie is so important to me. I saw it midnight release or day after can't remember, had A miles morales hoodie on and A spiderverse (not related to the spiderverse movies just a comic spiderverse) shit on under that. Entire theatre went nuts when all the amazing characters showed up. It is also important to me as this came out december of 2021 and that was right before my life got significly worse due to a toxic manager at the placed I worked at the time just completely ruining my life for the next year and A half after that. I will never forget this movie as it is special for A thousand reasons. It is also proved even more so that almost all spider people are destined to go through some sort of tragedy. 10/10 movie in my book. It just sucks you gotta watch like 20 movies before this cuz its mcu lol. Also yes the Andrew saving MJ was his redemption very heartfelt moment. Would love to see you playthrough the insomniac games! (Marvels spider-man 2018, the 3 dlcs of that game, Miles morales games, Marvels spiderman 2) Amazing games! Also the lawyer who helps peter at the start of the film is Matt Murdock...aka...Daredevil. Also the very final trailer after the credits is "Dr.Strange and the multiverse of madness" movie!

kaliwali

I seeeee! So THAT was the Daredevil guy! Excited to see him eventually 👀

rubberkidney

very little of mcu in this, mostly a celebration of sony spiderman. def a trend for anything good after end game.

kaliwali

Yesss, exactly! Spider-Man can unfortunately never have it all.. and when any of them try to, they learn this heavy lesson. It rings true for every Spider-Man ever ❤️

kaliwali

Ahh I already read someone's comment that it's from Daredevil! 👀

kaliwali

Ughhhh yes 💔 Andrew's face absolutely broke my heart in half

The Amazing Webhead

I’m so hyped for this one. This film was basically a celebration of 20 years of Spider-Man movies. Never we thought we get a film like this but here we are. The show Loki was important to watch before this one because it establishes the multiverse concept and the idea of various versions of the same characters existing whether they look the same or are different with their own histories. It was amazing to see Tobey, Andrew, & their villains return to give closure to their stories while completing Tom’s Peter three film arc of becoming a more traditional Spider-Man. We got to see a more mature/wise Tobey who got through his demons & Andrew’s Peter redeeming himself for not saving Gwen bringing back hope in himself. The main criticism the MCU Peter had was relying on Iron Man or the Avengers and not showing much of the everyday problems that most versions of the character deals with but No Way Home showcases the consequences of being Spider-Man and having to make the sacrifice for his love ones. Now he’s on his own, paying rent, & is a more friendly neighborhood super hero. Lastly, the film really highlights why Green Goblin is Spider-Man’s main nemesis. Goblin always torments him in the comics & is his foil. Peter represents responsibility while Goblin is chaos. Literally this is the same guy from the OG 2002 film but the moment he enters another universe with another Peter, he already wants to break him. He’s hates Spidey that much. Lol

KJ

Oh well lol

The Amazing Webhead

The lawyer that helped Peter was Daredevil which is why people asked you to watch his show before this but I’m excited when you’ll watch it at some point to know more about him. With the post credit scene with Venom, it sets up the third Venom film which is optional if you want to watch it to see the full trilogy. Because this movie was filmed during the pandemic, they had to change some plot lines. One of the earlier versions of the script had Venom in a larger role. It’s a rumor but supposedly Venom & Eddie would had went to New York to find Spider-Man cause they believe to him as a bad guy and would had teamed up with the villains mistaken them for The Avengers lol. Of course Venom would realize he was fighting on the wrong side & team up with the three Peter’s. Also if you remember in the Venom 2 post credit scene, Venom mentions to Eddie that his species has a hive mind that spans across universes so they share memories of other’s experiences. So while this Venom never met Spider-Man, he has memories of other versions of himself having encountered a Peter Parker having that rivalry hence why he called him “That guy.” It’s how they were affected by Strange’s spell. The piece of the symbiote that’s left behind is clearly setting up Tom’s Peter getting it at some point. We don’t know when but if they do, I’m certain it will be less cringy than Tobey’s Emo dance. Lol

KJ

I think when you first saw Spider-Man back in Captain America: Civil War, I mentioned Peter Parker is the Heart of Marvel. And now after you've experienced the Spidey Sagas I feel even more strongly this is the case. They mix comedy with tragedy, trauma and healing like few others.

Sam

Such an incredible movie, I love how they honored the movie history of spiderman so much. Hope we will get the second Spiderverse soon aswell, even tho you want to jump into DC now. Once you get to Multiverse of Madness I will for sure try to watch it with you again as I also really like Dr. Strange. I only tried once and couldnt handle the cgi problems in that, I hope maybe it gets better later into the movie, so I will try to push through with you :D

M1 Maz

So this ended up being a first time watch for me! But from just being on the internet, I already had most of the big twists spoiled for me. But watching this now, I was still so pleasantly surprised with how all the callbacks were woven (pun intended) into the story! I've always said before that with each actor's Spider-Man, even tho they bring their own flair to it, the core idea of Spider-Man remains the same. So it all felt so natural seeing them come together. It felt like that final convergence of what it means to wear the mask I also just loved how all the callbacks were incorporated into the story. It didn't just feel like nostalgia for nostalgia's sake. It felt like a continuation, and in some cases closure, of the weight, pains, and joys that each one carried. Andrew's face after saving MJ :( But also, it was so much fun to see them interact with each other! And again felt so natural. I also got that vibe that Andrew's Spider-Man was like the big brother, and Tobey's was the cool uncle haha. And then the three of them mixed in with Doctor Strange was just the perfect level of chaos Also.... it definitely couldn't be a true Spider-Man film with callbacks to the OGs without some good jump scares thrown in too LOL

Jonathan D

Awesome reaction!!! Thank you Kali!!!

rubberkidney

dont sleep on spidersense, its a powerful psychic ability that will reveal itself in strange ways, like avoiding dr.strange while spirit is in astral form. oh and spidermans rouges gallery is second to none, its basically endless, dr. ock, electro, vulture, venom, mysterio, green goblin, kraven the hunter, rhino, the lizard, sandman, hydroman, the scorpion, black cat...it goes on and on, and thats before you get into cross property villians that spidey always ends up against like kingpin.

Daniel Morgan

Well, Across the Spider-Verse was the last one in this lineup of Spider-Man films. Helps complete up the Spider-Verse storyline a bit, despite us waiting for the third film. And I'll have you know, it's a 'VERY' Spider-Man-like film, cause of the plot. But, entirely up to you. 😊 I'll try to hang around for the DC films, but personally I only like Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, and Zack Snyder's Justice League. My most favorite DC trilogy. Edit after watching this: Oof. The more you started talking about the Spider-Man lore, the more I wish you did Across the Spider-Verse. 😂 Cause… well, I'm not gonna spoil, but it does help out with all the previous Spider-Man movies as well, and in general (hence why it's one of the most 'Spider-Man-like' films), and is why it's the last line of these Spider-Verse films. But again, I'm okay with what your decision is. 😊 SUPER excited to see you watch Hawkeye during Christmas (cause it is next in the MCU, AND it took place close to the same time and place as No Way Home). But also mostly excited for you to see Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special. Cause, if you want, for emotional purposes, from start to finish, you can follow up with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 as well. 🥲🥲 All I can say is, prepare yourself for that movie. It's one of the BEST late phase MCU movies. That is all.

rubberkidney

oh and ned becomes a villain called 'the hobgoblin' in the comics so a little inside joke there, hes not the same character at all though

KamikazeCDN

I figured this one was going to break you over and over, it's a really tragic movie at the core. He loses pretty much everything outside of his life. Aunt May's death actually caught me by surprise when I first watched this one. Spider-Man has always been a favourite of mine. All the other Marvel/MCU movies have some great characters and whatever but Spider-Man really does feel different. They tell deep stories but still feel very comic book-y which I really enjoy. Probably helps I grew up watching the cartoons as well. I am selfishly excited for some DC movies. DC has my favourite comic book character in Batman. Though I'll admit, since you're coming from the big connected MCU it's probably going to be a bit different to watch depending on where you're starting. If you're strictly sticking with the DCEU that started with Man of Steel (2013) it'll be familiar in terms of being connected. But I will say of the 16 movies in that now finished universe, none of them are personally in my top 5 DC properties. I know some people really love the DCEU but it just didn't do it for me (maybe it will for you and that's cool). I've mentioned them before but some of my top DC movies are the Nolan Dark Knight Trilogy, Joker (2019), The Batman (2022) as well as some others. But those are all standalone/isolated universes. The new DCU reboot Superman (2025) honestly wasn't too bad either, and that's coming from someone that isn't huge on Superman. There is also the 90s Batman movies which are campy, kinda cheesy, and very comic book but they have a special place in my heart. Point is if you're going way back, you're eventually going to see a lot of different versions of the same characters by different actors. So again it can be a lot coming from the connected and consistent MCU but it can be very much worth it.

Dude Longcouch

Really happy that nobody spoiled the cameos in this movie for you! It's kind of hard to navigate around that when explaining to somebody why it's better to see all the previous Spider-Man films before this one, but it's definitely a secret worth preserving. Nice work Patreonis 👍 And I definitely agree with you Kali, Spider-Man is my #1 hero. Well, in the Marvel universe, at least. Batman will always be my overall #1, but Spider-Man would be a close overall second. For me, this movie is the ultimate "Rule of Cool." The plot completely falls apart with the slightest bit of scrutiny, but in this case I genuinely couldn't care less because it's all in the service of so many amazing things coming together. Too many great ones to mention but in particular I'm so happy that Andrew got to reprise the role after his 3rd movie was unceremoniously canceled, and also, having Willem Dafoe back as Green Goblin is a gift from the heavens. I could watch a 4 hour movie all of the Spider-Man just hanging out and shooting the shit, and I would savor every single second of it. I'm quite excited for you to get into Batman. There's a lot there, he's been an iconic figure in comics and pop culture for almost a hundred years at this point, so you can imagine he's been through a lot of different characterizations and stories. I'll tell you straight up, if you want the best, most complete, most beloved version of Batman, you've got to watch Batman: The Animated Series from the 90's. There aren't a ton of reactions to it, you'd be one of the first!

Paul Walker

After all the emotional heavy lifting Tom has done for years as this version of Spider-Man I think it was nice how the real life parallels probably made things easier this time around. As you mentioned the scenes between the Peters felt so authentic and real. It could very well have been conversations between Tobey, Andrew, and Tom reminiscing.

Joe

So glad you were not spoiled by this. You are absolutely right about this movie being a love letter to spider-man fan. But there is also an emotional story that made it more than fan service. The multiverse can be a confusing topic to cover, but when it is anchored by these three great actors, who clearly love playing this character, you really buy into it. And even though there were so many villains, we all know them well enough that it did not overwhelm the story but furthered it. It was a wonderful cap to your spider-man journey. To address a few of the questions you raised, in the scene where spider-man was moving that magic box around while he was out of his body, I assumed it was his spidey-sense (peter tingle) ability taking over, but they never really addressed it. Also, I am not sure how much of that great spider-men scene where they are talking to each other was improvised, but some of it was. For example, Andrew Garfield's "I love you guys" line was confirmed to be improvised. Excited to continue your super hero odyssey with you, especially when you get into the x-men and learn more about that blind lawyer (my favorite character from the comics.)

Jordan

Fantastic reaction! Can't wait to watch Daredevil with you as well! I saw someone let you know who the lawyer was. Daredevil is my favorite Marvel character and his show absolutely does him justice!

Giancarlo Gasparin

Man, I tried multiple times to get her to watch some of Daredevil prior to this, but it didn’t happen. Definitely one of my absolute favorite characters as well.

Giancarlo Gasparin

What a lovely and heartfelt reaction! Ngl, the whole scene on the rooftop with the 3 of them meeting where you had your heart in your throat the entire time…yeah, that made me shed a few tears. It was truly a treat to watch you experience this one for the first time, and I appreciate you sharing it with us.

McShades

Your reaction to Andrew was priceless lol... It was a fun ride, I really enjoyed this one.

Raymond Guerra

Yeah this is definitely th3 crown jewwlof Spiderman and too shelf for marvel in general.

Onno Smits

Even though May's death in this is very sad, for me the most hard hitting moment is Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man saving MJ from the fall, and redeeming himself for Gwen. The look on his face when he does so... Oh, my heart. The EXTENDED edition starts with a short introduction video-chat of Toby, Andrew, and Tom talking about making the movie. So it's a good thing you didn't go for that one, that would've spoiled the fact that they would show up in the movie! 😅

Chris Chatham

MJ is wearing the broken Black Dahlia after she has forgotten at the end. There's a glimmer of hope at the end for you.

Lastboyscout73

I'm a little hurt that Captain America is no longer your number one! (just kidding, Spiderman is cool too). How long has it been since you and I discussed the fact you needed to see all the Spiderman movies for this one to make since? Almost a year? I'm glad everyone else pushed you in that direction as well. This movie to me was very awesome, considering I have always loved the superhero genre of movies (especially Marvel) and it put a bow on all the movies before it. I do think you should of watched at least the 1st season of Daredevil before this but it is a quick cameo I suppose but would of landed different for you when he showed up. I look forward to the Hawkeye series but again, you should consider the 1st season of Daredevil but I get it's a big commitment, but a bit of that show will delve into that world. No shade to the DC fans out there, I like those movies ok but I am super bummed your putting off the X-Men. The X-Men were the comics I read as a 10 to 12 year old kid and my all time favorite character of all comics is Wolverine. I guess I have waited this long for you to get to them that I can wait a little longer. I'm not a big DC fan, although I liked a few of the movies and always watched them when they came out, it's just doesn't land for me as well as the Marvel Universe does. I'm sure you will enjoy them though. My final plea, for what it's worth, is that you don't wait too long to go into the X-Men though. I've said it before but you can't please everyone. I enjoyed your reaction to this movie. I knew you would find it "Amazing" (pun intended).

FigLeaf Bicarbonate

Great reaction to the movie. The really good lawyer was Matt Murdock aka Daredevil, can't wait for you to get into that series. It's an amazing show. Also the extended edition is definitely worth a watch.

Giancarlo Gasparin

The way they made us think Aunt May was gonna be okay before she wasn’t was nasty work.

Richard

Wow, powerful reaction. You wrapped up the Spider-Man saga very nicely in the outro and mini-essay. Lots of takeaways and lots of reflection are where these movies lead. They are very “human” stories which is a big reason why they resonate so well. It is an effective plot device that, after you get invested in a character, put their loved ones in peril to get the full emotional impact. Nice touch with the toadstool in the background. I am beyond excited for when you finally get to Doctor Strange 2, glad you are looking forward to it.

Gabagoo

I honestly LOVE the fact that she didn’t react to who the lawyer really is 😏

Łukasz Jarczewski

When people cheer about this movie, I feel like Padmé Amidala in Revenge of the Sith (when Palpatine announced the creation of the Empire). To paraphrase her words: “So this is how creativity dies . . . with thunderous applause." Many people liked the movie, I won't take that away from them. And that's cool, enjoy it because apparently we'll be getting more movies like this in the future. With weak plots and all, but hey, we saw familiar faces and that's great. I asked a few people what they remember from NWH and that's exactly the answer I got. Oh boy. I really want to like this movie, but I have to look at it objectively, corporate product. Did you notice that when Garfield appears on screen for the first time, nothing happens? Literally nothing. He stands there for a few seconds and Sony gives people time to applaud because they calculated that they would do so. And unfortunately, this happens again. The finale has poor special effects (although this is already a hallmark of the MCU) and a terrible ending. I know many people for whom Spider-Man is their favorite superhero, but they hate the ending. The fact that he shows MJ and Ned his ass and middle finger, depriving them of their decision-making power (like Joel with Ellie in The Last of Us). You'll point out that he behaved “okay,” but in reality, he was only thinking about himself. Disrespecting the decisions of loved ones and close friends is a trait of a villain, not a hero. But at least Molina and Dafoe didn't disappoint me.

FigLeaf Bicarbonate

I've been reading comics since I was young, and I grew up trying to find anything Spider-Man related and I love the ending. It's a just lines up with the "Parker luck" side of Spider-Man and his sacrifices over the characters years. Sorry you didn't enjoy the movie. Hopefully brand new day is more to your liking.

KJ

I feel like Ronan Keating when he sang "You say it best, when you say nothing at all".

Damon Shaw

When I first saw this it felt like I was back to being 12 again, watching Spider-Man 1 at my nan's with a mug of hot chocolate and pancakes 🔥

Damon Shaw

If any fan who wasn't keen on this can take anything away, it's that it has helped to reset Spider-Man back to how he should be. No more Stark tech helping him out. No more Avengers. Just good ol' fashioned Spider-Man. I thought comicbook fans of Spider-Man would be happy for that, but I guess I'm wrong?

Darian Harman

For me, as a life-long Spider-Man nerd, this is the first film that really tackled the weight of the character. For many, it's in any number of iterations of the Great Responsibility speech. However, in my case, it was when he chose not to tell MJ, Ned and Happy who he was. In my eyes, that is when he became Spider-Man. The closest approximation to my own life that I can draw upon is when I had to break up with someone that I love with my whole heart, because our relationship was only enabling her to cling more firmly to her toxic behavioral patterns. She was never going to grow as long as I was there as a reminder that her ways were acceptable. As is the case with Peter, sometimes in life, we have to make overwhelmingly heavy decisions, often failing to ever learn that we did, indeed, make the correct call.

Matt Fong

The three spider men have a group chat

Matt Fong

When Dr. Strange separates Peter from spider-man, you can see the spider sense above Peter’s head which allows spider-man to keep the box away

Matt Fong

The miracle of the film is that they got all the villains into a movie plus Toby and Andrew and made a mostly coherent movie

C. J. Ramirez

Should watch daredevil next the theaters went crazy when Matt appeared

FatLittleButterfly

Murdock appearance basically means a slew of TV shows early in MCU days officially became canon materials!
